I think you hit well on the reasons why Bowie was/is loved by so many and will be missed. I'd forgotten your father passed last year, too. It's funny. I always knew Dad and Bowie would go about the same time, but I always thought Bowie would be first, a kind of last warning . . .
Thank you so much, and I'm really sorry about your dad too. After mine passed I went through a long bit of not journaling, not thinking, not reading what other people were going through. In some ways I feel like I'm just recovering from everything that happened, and did a lot of turning inward this past year.
I want 2016 to be a year when I turn outward and do fun things again. I wish for that for you & Drew too. ♥
Ha, so many people tried to copy, but there was only one original. You know what they say about imitation being the sincerest form of flattery. In Bowie's case, I think he was leagues ahead of the curve and left everyone else in the dust. By the time they got around to mimicking him successfully, he was three personas into the future.
