5. That time on top of the Viper. Maybe not my best moment in general, definitely not my most stellar hair day. 4. On the algae planet. I keep thinking the story would've been different if it was Chief's hot fudge planet, but no such luck. 3. In bed with Kara, that last time. Don't remind me. 2. I'm thinking during the mutiny out in the corridor, covered with blood, falling over. That probably wasn't the best my hair ever looked.
So could we get a drum roll or fanfare or whatever for the #1 time my hair was less than perfect? Frak yeah, drum roll, right on:

I'm not sure all these apologies have entirely humorous results, but there is humor in all of them. Plus, you get a bonus apology to Denny in there too. Thanks for the prompt!

"Don't apologize." He looked down at Sheba, who blinked back up at him with blameless soulful eyes. "She's just a dog. They love the water."
"Yeah, but I should have known better."
His shrug, easy as always, was accompanied by a crooked little smile. "There's a towel in the back, under the seat. At least I usually keep it there."
Jen shook her head. "I knew that. I just forgot. Will you let me take her again next time anyway?"
"Let's see." It only took him a moment, and he was no good at feigning much of anything anyway. "Yes."
For years, though, those muddy paw prints stayed right where they were, right on his dashboard. He'd never admit it to Jen, especially because she'd felt so bad about it -- first time she took his car and everything -- but he liked seeing them there.

1. Possibly my favorite. Never mind, they all are, but this is just so cute while being so Tom. He's go with the flow and likes those little signs of those he cares about. (Both of them. :grins: )
2. So cute. Just so, so cute. She is so, so head over heels for him too.
3. I absolutely love how Tom defines perfection by the people, not the stuff, not the environment. The description of the steak had me in giggles. And that last line...
I was busy trying to imagine what the dessert was, then paused, realizing I probably didn't want to know.
Tom says: dessert was a bottle of wine and tiramisu at a nice Italian place down the street. Were you thinking more extravagantly?
I'm glad you get Tom-the-character. I know Jen can be easy to dislike, but she's one of my favorites. She has a lot more going on than meets the eye initially. I'm so glad you asked for her.
