Earlier today, I was googling to find out whether OZ was ever shown on UK televison (answer - yes, very late at night on channel 4) and my search terms were "oz uk tv". It's funny. I keep thinking that John Simm would make a really great Doctor. But failing that, yeah, a crossover would be awesome. Just show us the TARDIS on a corner or something. I already keep looking for it. ;)

And the sharing of surnames could definitely lead to some interesting directions. I mean, heck, look at Quantum Leap (another time travel show). Didn't Sam father a baby who grew up to work for the Project and was instrumental in trying to get him home?

Many many cool, headtrippy things could result.

Oddly enough, the two things I know about Quantum Leap (that it is time travel related and has a character called Sam); I learned from someone crossing it over with Life on Mars. Fannish osmosis is a wonderful thing.

I'm half expecting a crossover now, too! It's actually quite plausible because Russell T Davies certainly has no fear of pop culture references.

I think the best the LJ fandom has come up with crossover-wise (that I've read) is "Run From Themselves" by loneraven but that's only a mention; there is certainly much to be explored. But read the fic anyway. It's one of those I feel the need to rec to everyone I pass by. :)
