Doctor recommendations

I knew I needed to switch my PCP because her office staff was incompetent, but I put it off because I never go to the doctor. Today I discovered that she moved without bothering to inform her patients; now her office staff is incompetent and in Malden and Arlington. To add some urgency, I hurt my foot and need to see a podiatrist ASAP (which of ( Read more... )

I see either doctor Gassiraro or one of her PAs at Physician's Associates out of Mount Auburn. You can find the office phone on the web. I've been mostly pleased with the quality and service there.

I like the NPs at Harvard Vanguard Medical Associates in Cambridge. My PCP is male, but they have female PCPs there who accept new patients. Alison likes her female PCP at the Watertown Harvard Vanguard office, and in general I've been pleased with the level of care at all the HVMA offices.

I don't know any podiatrists, but I really like the orthopedist Dr. Chernak at HVMA Somerville. There's also a pretty amazing chiropractor in Newton who specializes in foot issues/injuries and orthotics. He has a pretty long waiting list, but anyway, his name is Tom Michaud.

Christi here. We travel all the way in to Cambridge to go to The Marino Center on Mass Ave (walkable from Davis). They are a great mix of traditional medicine and alternative stuff. They've cured some health issues that no by-the-book doctors had been able to for years. They respect alternative treatments, but work with your comfort level. I'm generally given a spectrum of treatment options ranging from purely medical to very alternative.

I've never seen my PCP because I have a great RN there or I just see whoever is available if I have an urgent need. My brother-in-law and his wife also see someone there and love here, but they're on vacation or I'd tell you who that is. Meanwhile, I recommend calling and asking who is taking patients. I haven't had a bad experience there yet and I have family and close friends who all go there for care.

For a PCP, I've had good experiences with Dr. Hobbs at Harvard Vanguard in Davis Square, if that's not too far for you to go.

For a podiatrist, I've had very good experiences with Dr. Tedesco at newenglandfootandankle.com in Somerille. Friendly, pragmatic, very competent and effective.

I'm sorry that you hurt your foot, and I hope you can find a good PCP soon!

I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Judith Lytle at Medical Care Affiliates in Copley Square (which is totally near Park, right?). She is amazing, and I have referred a ton of our friends to her, and they all love her too. 617-262-1500.
