The night had been long, painfully long. The cell's bench was cold and his body felt cramped after spending most night lying over it, on his side, hugging his legs tight against his chest

"Shawn!" Ren's face splits into a big, wide smile the second he sees Shawn. It's not that he's completely oblivious to Shawn's own misery, but in this moment his own joy at seeing his friend takes over.

He waves, just in case the loud cry that draws every cellmate's attention isn't enough. Smiling, he approaches the cell, eager for his friend to be let out.

Shawn jumps up on his seat, his head immidiatly turning towards the door; he knows this voice, how could he forget him?? If there was a good, kind sould he could truly trust in this world, that had to be...

"Ren! Big buddy!" Shawn cries out, his face breaking into a huge earnest smile. He gets up, in less than a blink of the eye he finds himself holding the cell bars, bouncing on the balls of his feet. "You have no idea how glad I am to see you!"

If Ren's smile could get any wider, it does. He does have an idea how pleased Shawn is to see him; he can see it in the way he bounces at the front of the cell. He moves over the cell quickly and holds the bars too, bouncing out of time with Shawn.

"This nice young man is going to let you out, as long as you promise not to climb more trees while you're here. If you want to climb more Canadian trees, we can go to Alberta, I know some good ones." His nod is entirely sincere.
