003 - Can't buy me love

Feb 09, 2010 15:03

I'm glad to be back to normal. It was an eye opening experience though. I've realized how thankful I am for being tall (not to mention finished with puberty.)

The auction is a fun idea. Normally I wouldn't base my desire to date someone simply on looks and a one sentence introduction, (Okay, advertisement is probably a better word for it) but it is ( Read more... )

Just think of it as a fundraiser. That's the primary purpose anyway.

If that's the case I hope the novelty of it has some value. The opening bid was pretty low, but maybe that's the plan. If I'd known what it was for I would have actually posed for the picture. They caught me looking pretty frumpy, there.

Nah, I wouldn't say frumpy. I see you're holding your friend, there, though in the photo--have you managed to put it down at all since you got it back?

Oh, occasionally. I do have to sleep, after all.

[If he was still sixteen, he might have mentioned the "twin threesome fantasy" some people have, though even teenaged!Rogue had some discretion.]

Maybe you should take turns with the winner. One day they spend with you, one day with him.

That may be what ends up happening. But I figure it's best to leave it up to said winner.

Man, this means I'm the shortest one working at the shop again.

And it's a pretty weird situation. It'll be interesting, anyway?

Haha! I really think it's better this way. But...I could squat down as I walk if you really wanted me to.

And yes, it certainly will be that.

You know, that might not be such a bad idea~

Uh oh. What have I gotten myself into? [It's crossed out rather playfully, and still entirely visible.] I might not be able to do it for very long. Maybe I can just get my hands on a shorter stool.

Y'know, it actually didn't say sharing was mandatory.

If we do have to go through with it, I'm thinking taking turns is miles and away less awkward.

[Written in a few seconds later when he sees Rogue's response.]

See there? I'm not the only one who thinks it's a good idea.

It's supposedly for a good cause, so why not run with it? Nonetheless, I'll just go with the flow whichever way it goes.

Normally I would run with it, vague charitable cause or no.

But something about being part of a package deal just rubs me the wrong way.

Eh. Any luck at all and whoever is bidding on us will be considerate.

Perhaps you could request to be split apart in the auction, or for bidders to collaborate for a sort of double-date?

Yeah, I'm beginning to think that is the best idea. It's put everyone in an awkward spot.

Has it been that bad? I can understand not wanting to be forced together with someone you aren't exactly familiar with, but if nothing else, this is an opportunity to learn more.

I don't believe the 'dates' have to be specifically romantic.

Well I'm not particularly bothered by it, but people have brought up some good points. For example if someone wanted only one of us and had to pay extra just to ditch the other. Especially if there was someone else that wanted the other.
