[The words appear in the journal of anyone who is still around to read it. Aim...Lockon...Neil (or whatever you wish to call him) has again appeared in the Sphere, similar to the last time: no birth, just a miraculous appearance out of no where...but this time is different for him. He retains his memories from his world and regains what he had of ( Read more... )

[Is this Neil? It looks like his handwriting, but she's never heard him talk like this before. Atrocities and hatred and bitterness...

She ought to be stunned and elated by this entry, but she's just stunned now.]

N Lockon?

It is a possibility. Edensphere's changed, too. And I'm here.

[[His heart melts a little bit when he sees her handwriting, and he immediately regrets writing those things. But that regret is somewhere washed up in a relief that she is okay. Of course she is. And now he has given her another reason to worry. Well..there is reason to worry, but that still doesn't mean people should know about it.]]

Hey, you.

[Now to utterly ignore breech that awkwardness he just created.]

What happened here? Where is everyone?

[Well. She's a princess, so it's officially her job to worry now, not just habit.]

A lot. But it's okay. [insert a lot of curlicues.] Fugue's gone, we remember everything and [doodle.]

Most people went back home. I'm actually in Castle Bal, but I'll be there in a jiff.

Wait, you're home, but you can go back and forth? Do you know if anyone can do that?

I'm not in the Sphere, but I'm still keeping tabs on my journal. Good to know it still works.

Well, there is the saying "ignorance is bliss". Not sure I really believe that, though.

People that were here can take the journals away? Huh..

I think there is some truth to it. Ignorance can be bliss to those who suffer that ignorance. But that ignorance tends to contribute to what is wrong in the first place.

Yeah. We were all able to go back to our own worlds- or others', in some cases- and a lot of us took our journals to try and stay in touch.

Very true. Being ignorant means that those who are in the know can take advantage of it.

Exactly my thoughts...

And thanks for the info. Do you have any idea how many people, if any, are still staying here more or less permanently?

[Good God.

You'd think he'd get used to it after seeing Neil return several times already. You'd think he would acclimate to the idea of the dead living again in this place, especially after coming back to find Stellaris here.

But no, it's still a shock every time. What's even more of a shock is seeing Neil be so frank in an open forum. Saying it's surreal is a bit of an understatement.

And he brings up interesting points. It would be easy to breeze past them with a diffusing comment, and that's his first instinct. ]

[...Which means he can't help but diffuse the atmosphere a little.]

You know, you always did have a way with entrances. The monologuing is new, though.

[Oh, he'll dig into those deeper topics of yours soon enough. For now, he's regaining his balance by seeking refuge in banter.]

[He is just as startled to see Lyle's handwriting in response. He wasn't sure what he expected, but having seen him recently in their world, he hadn't thought much of the possibility that he might be here too. Or perhaps he wasn't here and simply had the journal as well? No..somehow that just wasn't possible.]

There is such a thing as an inner monologue. The new part is putting it out there. That's the most 'newness' I think I can handle.

But I'm glad some things don't change. How the hell are you?

How am I? ...Let's go with 'better' for a broad answer. The rest is best covered in person, otherwise I might waste several pages.

And what about you? Aside from the self-proclaimed bitter introspection.
