Couch surfing! RP with cantbewithhim

Fred leaned back on Ennis's couch and whined.  "I'm sleeping here tonight.  I am one hundred percent positive I will splinch myself if I go home."   He flopped his hands dramatically over his eyes.  "Repay the favor, etcetera, Ennis.  Plus I gave you brownies.  Birthday brownies!"

Junior had left a while ago, and the two of them had amused ( Read more... )

Ennis chuckled, laying his cigarette in the ashtray near his bed.

"What's splinchin' yerself?" he asked gruffly, thinking that sounded dirty. He glanced over at Fred, smiling to himself at how cozy the other man looked.

If Fred knew that Ennis thought it sounded dirty, he would laugh for the next year. The idea of Ennis finding anything dirty was inherently hilarious -- and, okay, more than a little hot.

"It's when you leave a bit of yourself behind," Fred explained. "S'not always really bad -- Ronnie used to lose bits of his eyebrows qui~ite often, but it can, you know, be a wee more serious than that."

Ennis winced. "Aw, yeah.. that don't sound too pleasant." He looked thoughtful a moment, resting a hand over his chest. "But if ya been doin' it as long as ya have... it's prob'ly not as easy ta mess up."

Fred nodded thoughtfully. "True. But sometimes things go wacky if you're tired or something. My Great Uncle Augustus was like the best Apparator ever, able to cross all of Europe in a single jump! And then he died 'cause he left his heart behind somewhere."

Fred paused. "Although some people say he meant to do it, all romantic like, since he was leaving his lady love's bower or whatever, but -I- think that, one, she probably wasn't too appreciative of the lump of bloody organ there and, two, if it was a conscious decision? He was probably too topped up on sherry to realize it was ridiculously stupid."

"George's shop? I'd love t'see that, sure." He was real curious about all this, and something told him he'd never understand fully without seeing it with his own eyes.

"George and my shop, come on!" Fred chuckled. "Alright, I haven't been there for over a decade, but it's still mine."

"Alrigh'," he conceded easily, which had nothing to do with their proximity OF COURSE. "George an' yer shop then. Still love ta see it."

He had a feeling he'd be sleeping a lot better than he had in a long while.

Fred grinned, absently running his fingers along Ennis's shoulders. "Yeah, he's done good with it. Expanded a bit, of course lots of new lines of products."

And Ennis was determined to be as uncooperative as possible, responding to Fred's every movement without changing the pace. He sighed, hand sliding over Fred's back and under his shirt.

Working his way down to Ennis's collarbone, Fred smiled, arching a little into Ennis's tentative touch. Where was this going? Did it matter? Mum would definitely have to make Ennis a sweater now -- Fred should ask about his backlog again! He ran his hands down Ennis's side gently, then suddenly popped back up to kiss the other man properly again.

Ennis welcomed the kiss, hands moving freely over Fred's back up to his shoulders. Nothing had felt this good in a long damn time.

It did feel good! Which perhaps was a lackluster way to describe such a fantastic snogging session, but it was comforting -- okay, another weird word, but true so whatever. He sighed happily into Ennis, feeling boneless and relaxed.

Fred was just lucky he hadn't said that aloud. Ennis pulled out a cigarette and lit it, sighing happily at the weather.

"I don't have any pranks planned," Fred realized, speaking suddenly after a long silence. "That is really odd."

"Guess ya'd better get on that," he said, pushing his mare sideways to offer Fred a cigarette.

"I know, right?" He grinned thankfully and took a cigarette. "Might just wait 'til next year, I guess. Seems weird to celebrate today at all without George around."
