Thank you! Writing from a kid's POV is tricky, so I'm glad it came across okay.

*flails*

I want you to know that I started tearing up when Aaron gave Spencer the phone and it was Jack and I just love how you're slowly turning them into a close family. The peace feels so natural and I fully believe Spencer's love of Jack when I'm reading. It was such a great mix of angst and sweet that I don't know which I need to go read now to recover. XD

Thanks! "Sanctuary" has often made me cry, so I'm glad I could return the favor :)

Like the first commenter, I love that you've fleshed Jack out. Him regretting he told Haley she was holding him too tight was heartbreaking, so I'm grateful he found peace in his new family's arms at the end.

This is beautiful, so thoughtful, and just a joy to read.

Thank you. It's tricky to write a child's POV, so I'm glad it came out all right. Jack's an interesting character to write too, because he's got this great mixture of innocence and innocence lost.

I don't even know if I have words which can adequately convey how much I loved this chapter. Spencer's realization about how he loved Jack was so utterly heartwrenching and perfect. And Jack's POV, with his regrets that he didn't hug Haley tighter and his fears that something was wrong, just pulled at my heart and was... perfect. I think I've already read this three times and will come back and re-read it many, many times more. I loved EVERYTHING about this. So wonderful!

Thanks! It's fun to explore the different ways in which each character is so damaged or scarred, be it Spencer not being able to identify his own emotions until they smack him in the face or Jack's regrets and innocence lost with his mother's death.
