"Where's the Doctor?"  It only occurred to David to ask this seemingly important question roughly and hour after being in contact with the man that gave them shelter and shuttled them from world to world.  He and Harry had just been booted out of one gift

"I should of worn a hoodie," Harry mused, clearly not listening to David as he adjusted the white hat with ear flaps that had the words 'GIFT' sprawled over the top of it. They could of a least come up with a quirky slogan or a mascot or something. But everything just had the word gift in big official letters stamped all over it.

Looking at David, he raised an eyebrow before realising he was being talked to. His tail twitched from where it was hidden in his trousers and he frowned deeply. Something was wrong.

They were missing the Doctor.

"Oh no he's run off without us. Again! I say we get him a leash."

"But they keep tell us we have to queue and when we don't want to queue because when we do, we have to pay for things we really can't afford!" it was horrible, really horrible. What happened if they ran out entirely. They could only trade so much and the guards were always watching.

"Where do you suggest we leave?" Harry whispered back as he looked around. Wall after wall of shops with no clear way out. It was like an endless stretch.

Why did the Doctor even bring them here?

Because the Doctor loved little shops? Because he could always get more and more credits? Because it was safe so long as he was there. The trouble only came when he wasn't there...

David shook his head and strode right up to a guard.

"Where are the shuttles out?" The guard frowned and David quickly added: "We need to drop our things off and come back for more. The pocket universe bags are almost full!"
