Who: David and Harry Cat
Where: Fob!watch verse

"Where's the Doctor?"  It only occurred to David to ask this seemingly important question roughly and hour after being in contact with the man that gave them shelter and shuttled them from world to world.  He and Harry had just been booted out of one gift ( Read more... )

"I should of worn a hoodie," Harry mused, clearly not listening to David as he adjusted the white hat with ear flaps that had the words 'GIFT' sprawled over the top of it. They could of a least come up with a quirky slogan or a mascot or something. But everything just had the word gift in big official letters stamped all over it.

Looking at David, he raised an eyebrow before realising he was being talked to. His tail twitched from where it was hidden in his trousers and he frowned deeply. Something was wrong.

They were missing the Doctor.

"Oh no he's run off without us. Again! I say we get him a leash."

"No, no, don't say that. You don't want to get the 'trapping the Doctor' speech again do you? Because me? No, I definitely do not." He was really very adamant about that. Putting his bags into the small pocket universe that happened to be given to them when they arrived to carry all of their purchases when on the planet, David looked up and down the street.

There were just queues everywhere. It was somewhat insane. Queues for shops, queues for queues for shops...

Mad!

"Let's try down this way?"

"I have to say, of all the places we've been stranded, this is better. I mean, anything is better than the whole 'frost bite after being stolen by evil Santa' incident," Yes, he was not over that one at all. Unlike original Harry, cat-Harry went on and on about the annoyance of being kidnapped instead of ignoring it.

As they headed down, there was ore queues upon queues upon queues and-- oh! There was one over there with only five people.

"Go there!"

Shoving David along till they were into the line, he lazily stood there with a bored expression. Hey, it killed time.

David didn't understand why Harry liked queuing so much. It seemed like a mondo waste of time. He needed to find the Doctor. Couldn't they stand outside of a queue and do that?

A few metres away, one of the Gift Shop World Security Officers stopped two kids who looked to just be standing there... Evidently no.

One always had to wait on queue for something here.

How did they sleep?!

"Harry, this is not finding us the Doct-- OH!"

There was that sound. Perfect! Vroop, vroop!

It didn't occur to David that hearing it meant that they were too late. "Let's go!"

"Then you can collect another pocket universe bag."

"We need to restock on credits, we left them at home," Harry tried with a small frown, looking over the guards shoulder to see if there was anything down there. Nope. More and more and more shops.

"You can trade, you don't have to leave until your done."

"... We are done!" Harry snapped angrily, giving David a determined look as if trying to get him... well, Harry wasn't sure, should they attack or would it just get them arrested or something.

David could see the look that the guard was giving them and immediately interjected with a: "But we'll come back!" just before they were seized and carted off towards the shuttle docks. Well, that had been one way of getting out. Unfortunately, their bags had been collected from them as well, leaving David sad without a single keychain to show for his time there.

The shuttles were not free, however, which led to one very small problem: finding passage.

David sighed.

And ended up on queue to talk to one of the dock managers. He and Harry were going to have to work for their passage. Hopefully they'd be allowed to.

"Work? But--- But where are we going? The Doctor knows were here and if we're not here, how will he find us?" Harry ranted, looking on the verge of having a bit of a panic attack. He went off with strange men and now he was trapped in the middle of nowhere and he wanted to go home already.

And why should they have to work for-- oh Rassilon, a trip in the shuttle was 1000 credits.

"They only make 350 a month. Doctor, what are we going to do?"

The thought of mugging someone came time mind. But the only way they could do it was none stop overtime all for a month.

"I'll work for both of us," David said with a smile. He'd run himself ragged in no time, sure, but he promised to take care of Harry a long, long time ago.

And he'd keep on doing it until he died.

David grinned and set his arm around the shorter man's shoulders. "See, while I'm working, I'll get to shuttle between here and other worlds. We're going to run into the Doctor at some point. And I'll get company housing here."

"Where are they sending me David? I can't be sent to Earth, humans are not nice to my kind! Why do you think we're off the radar, we hide from everyone because this happens," Harry's tail swished behind him in a sharp motion, clearly not happy with what was going on here. He had his growly face on.

He didn't want to be sent away or locked in a storage place... but at least he wouldn't get lost and he'd be nearish to David.

"Look... as much as I hate this, can you ask them to store me? Make a case! Say we don't have a home-- its just safer for the both of us. When when you make the money, we can go to the same place."

It was the best option in an awful situation.

He slipped his hands through the bars to touch Harry's fingers and frowned when his nose hit the metal. "Yes, I'll try. I'm going to try. And I'll come and visit you...it might be nice--"

Or maybe not. David was so close to tears now it wasn't funny.

He was no good at this. Protecting Harry was impossible, for him at least. He'd have to find him another David before it was too late.

"It-- It will be," he had to be nice because David was about to cry and Harry took care of David as well. "Now be strong and go argue for me, okay? Cause I don't want to end up lost. And if you can't do it? It's okay because I'll find you... I mean, I'm not exactly easy to lose."

The tail and ears usually gave him away.

"Now, go out there and be strong," Frowning, he made sure no one was around before leaning through the gates and giving David a very awkward headbutt type thing that was meant to be reassuring.

David sucked it up and nodded a few times, as if trying to convince himself that he could do this. He could do this. He had to. Swallowing back his tears, he left Harry behind with a little ear petting to go and see to his storage.

Luckily, the same sympathetic guard was there. He took one look at the way David was weeping and felt sorry for him. "Sir--"

"If he's dangerous, fine. But keep him here, somewhere safe. We don't have a home. We can't have one. He was experimented on, given those awful features. It's not his fault. Let me work for our passage but don't keep him in that cage. Please."

"For the record, Tyler, I'm sorry bout this," And, using his sonic screwdriver, the Doctor took control of the car and as if by magic, he was driving them with his little toy-thing. Guiding it straight ahead, he only pressed the button to turn the corner. Well, he wasn't letting Sam drive in this state.

Harry gripped his seat tight, the Doctor was not a good driver at all. He actually drove through someones garden! Oh those poor potted plants.

"Right, we're going to the TARDIS, I'll drop these two numbskulls off in their home and we'll talk," the Doctor assured as he took a swift left and nearly knocked an old lady down. Winding the window down, the Doctor shoved his head out the window. "Sorry bout that! Lovely scarf you have!"

"Ooh! I lt really is!" David chipped in happily as Sam tried to take control. Ack of the car, yelling the whole way. David looked at Harry and sighed. "He's really taking this poorly," he half whispered, loud enough for Sam to hear.

"You're gonna get us killed you idiot!" he yelled, haughty and half broken.

They stopped right in front of an old blue police box and growled. "You're kiddin me."

The Doctor parked the car and got out hastily, unlocking his door only and going around to 'help' Sam out the car. He let Harry and David make their own way about. Moving Sam closer, he leaned down to whisper in his ear. "For the record, I didn't want you to ever find out. And I can't let you remember but for now? Just try to enjoy it?"

It seemed fair, right? He could show Sammy a world of adventure and magic and then he would take it all away. Just to be safe.

"Wait! You promised you'd find our Doctor!" Harry protested, he said he would! Not run off with the jerk him.

"I'll do it after! Time is ... wimey."

"You can't just...take my-- No! No you can't!" That terrified Sam more than he could imagine. Not being himself, not remembering who he was happened to be a fate worse than death.

He refused to get out of the car.

"No, no, you bastard!" he yelled through gritted teeth. "No!"

"... That was a tad melodramatic," Harry observed in his own socially useless manner. Because he really could of just waited. And now they were in a dark TARDIS and... and where exactly was Valeyard? Harry thought he'd be faster if his TARDIS was in such danger. Maybe he'd over-estimated this bath loving terror. "Do you have control yet Doctor?"

"Hang on!-- How's Sam?"

"Erm... I can see but I think he's alive," Harry remarked as he wriggled about under the various wires, trying to find Sam. Course instead of putting a hand on his chest, he accidentally strokes the mans thigh. "Woops! Sorry Sammy, erm, are you alive? Very heroic of you, by the way."

Not that Harry liked or cared for heroics that much.

With Sam down for the count and the Valeyard loose, David was having a heart attack. "Get them out!" he kept pleading with Gene. "For the love of God, Doctor! He's evil! He'll do terrible evil things to them!"

And sure, that was absolutely helping.

There was a snarl from the darkness. And then a tiny, tiny laugh.

"You need to be retrained."

"Sam? SAM! Sammy, please wake up. I need you, we can double team," Harry whispered into Sams ears before putting his arms under Sams armpits so he could shuffle back, dragging his naked lookalike with him. He was never going to let Sam get raped or hurt or anything. No Harry left behind.

The Doctor continued to hack into the other TARDIS but it was quite a fight, the other TARDIS was resisting, hence the flickering lights.

"Come on, come on, come on. Work!"

While the Doctor and his TARDIS fought for control, Harry awkwardly lay on top of Sam as a protective shield, letting his tail wrap around his leg.

Dripping wet, ears flattened, the Valeyard slipped into the light from the console's dashboard and tilted his head eerily to the side. "Harold Saxon, you've been a very, very bad kitten," he mused, the light and joy completely drained from his eyes.

There was always something about him, something off and unhinged, but this was worse. This was murderous.

"If I can't have you, no one can."
