I have a domain and hosting... need to put up a simple website and a simple store with a shopping cart and pay pal and would ideally like to accept MasterCard and VISA too

i can try to help figure out/implement a payment system if you want. but my actual web design skills are probably a little bit rusty at this point. we used to do all our html coding the hard way, in notepad, so i'm not as familiar with the more professional stuff. and currently you definitely want to go with the more professional stuff for a business, as the html that i use is slowly going the way of the dinosaur. it's clean and simple, and might be okay if you don't have a lot of different products.

I'd recommend either:
very decent professional company if you handle a lot of products and transactions, thats what we did
or
very simple payment arraignments (like paypal) if you handle fewer and expect more brainpower out of your customers.
Depends on your needs.
