The beginning with the death of Greg's father sounds so right - especially when John's heart breaks because Greg continues to want to be strong for both of them.

I'm not sure I like Victor now. I know there are things he has to do, but he's coming across as ruthless, which means I fear for Sherlock.

But the story itself continues to grip and I'm really enjoying all the twists and turns.

Victor is definitely a conflicted soul, I will say that.

Thank you for your feedback! It's good to know that Greg's father's death sounds realistic to you. Thank you!

hey girl! Will you putting the chapters from 12 up on AO3? I'm only seeing up through 11 there. (I download with Mobi to my Kindle app.) Thanks!

Hey there!

Yes, I will indeed! I always cross-post to AO3. I just don't always have the time to post to both websites at the same time. I'm sorry for the delay, but the chapters will be posted this week. I promise!

EXCELLENT installment! While Sherlock and Victor do some rather despicable things, it's not as if they really have much choice. Their hands have been forced by Moriarty. While it seems a bit simplistic to say that the end justifies the means, there is a lot of truth in that. They're trying to bring down a very powerful and exceedingly corrupt criminal organization.

I really love the way that first scene is such a contrast with those later scenes. It's touching that Lestrade seems more concerned about reassuring John than accepting comfort from him. And I know this was in the previous installment, but it was also sweet when Lestrade asked John to come to his parents' place for the weekend because his sister and her kids wanted to see him, though he does admit that he misses John. Oh, and, lastly, that bit of humour with the dog is great! :-)

Ahh, thank you! Saying the ends justify the means doesn't excuse all of their actions, you're right, but they weren't left with a lot of choice. I'm very glad you liked this installment.

I'm also pleased you liked the bits with John and Lestrade--them trying to navigate all the ups and downs that come with being part of a couple, losing a parent, etc. I'm happy you're liking their relationship. Thank you for the feedback!
