We read somewhere that colicky kids were unable to block out stimulatory overload due to unfinished nerve sheaths or... something.
Anyway, it sucked. But it ended.

Yes! I read that too. And my irrational parenting brain has interpreted this to mean "extra smart children who just can't take in enough of the world, but have problems digesting all of this extra information, need a bit of help to cope with their overload". It makes me feel better about myself. :)

Orson definitely still needs help with the overload. Calming down is something he really needs to work on.
He's one of those kids who can't sit still. He eats his dinner standing up. He bounces up and down on the couch playing computer games. He appears not to be listening to you most of the time but actually, most of the time he is. At the wrong school he would be one of those bright always-in-trouble kids I think. He's luckily not at the wrong school.
I'll be interested to see the parallels - if any - Riley exhibits as he gets older. ^_^
