Winter Court - High Council

Entrance

Before the Emperor's speech, all rulers and their entourage, in order of Kingdom establishment (although it isn't necessary that you tag in any particular order), enter and are directed to their position at the table. Obviously, none seat themselves before the Emperor. Describe your character entrances here.

Faction leaders of particular import (such as the Church) are also represented, as are private individuals with great status. Bascially, if you think you should be here and aren't an evil abomination, feel free to tag in.

King Bradley, Seto Kaiba and Jin Kisaragi

King Bradley, his chosen attendants, and an honor guard of ten elite Amestris soldiers swept into the room. Bradley was wearing his ceremonial military outfit but carried no sword - weapons were not permitted in the presence of the Emperor.

As they entered, the court musicians played a brassy fanfare accompanied by taps on the snare drums. One of the soldiers carried the banner of Amestris, and all ten of them were marching in step.

Jin walked in step behind and to the right of the Fuhrer, a look of impassiveness on his face. He presented good form, and was dressed in his standard combat outfit, though the jacket he was wearing displayed the Kisaragi family crest.

Seto followed the group with a few of his own soldiers flanking him at his sides wearing a set of robes that had been made for him with his personal coat of arms displayed on his back.

He remained silent, hardly looking at anyone who looked their way, he just wanted to get this done and over with.

Dinner

Upon everyone being seated, the kitchen doors burst open and a veritable army of servers entered with enormous platters of sumptuously prepared pork, venison, beef, chicken, just about anything one could ask for. Vegetables, chocolates, pastries, truly a feast fit for a king, or even an emperor is laid out before you.

Traditionally, the Emperor eats first, and he doesn't keep you waiting. Digging in almost immediately, you are all given permission to do so as well.

Jin very conspicuously avoided any and all of the meat dishes being served. He heaped plenty of vegetables and grains on his plate, and ate at a moderate pace.

Light, meanwhile, is sampling a bit of each dish, his table manners exquisite. As he eats, he turns to face Jin.

"Would you be Major Kisaragi? I've heard much about your meteoric rise to fame. I've been very impressed, you don't seem to be much older than I am!"

Again with the talk of the uprising? Jin was tired of hearing about it everywhere he went. However, he was in the presence of the emperor, so he could not afford to be as cold and distant as he normally would.

"I am he. And I hear that a lot."

Pre-discussion banter

"And here comes Arthas, naked as the day he was born and covered in mud from head to toe, but I'll be damned if he wasn't clutching his little wooden sword and proudly proclaiming to anyone who'd listen that he beat the mud demon."

Emperor Terenas bursts out laughing at the memory.

"Damn but if I don't miss that boy. He should be returning from abroad soon, I hope."

Council

"My friends, while I would love to stay here and make idle banter, but we have important work to do. I've been receiving reports, and I have some items on my agenda to resolve, but first, let us open the floor. Anyone who is having issues or is feeling slighted, please say so now, we will use this opportunity to mediate and avoid allowing these slights to fester and lead to more warfare and bloodshed."

"Nothing of note for mediation, Your Highness," Char says, gracefully standing and bowing deferentially. "Though I would like to request by right of my oath as Commander of the Sea Side Riftguard some Imperial troops to aid in naval combat against the beasts of the Rift," he adds in one smooth, practiced adaptation of formula.

"It's not an urgent request, but there have been several pitched battles against Rift Daemons and Taintspawn outside the Bay of the Eye. If we're to fight another one this season, and I fear we will have to, I will need some aid. If you have airships at your disposal, we've found them quite effective," Char explains, mentally going over exactly what the Emperor was likely willing to offer.
