Oh, I love this so. I've never read the book you took the marriage-rituals from, but I can completely understand why you were inspired to apply them to Merlin. It fit beautifully!
The characterization throughout was excellent for all of the four, and you kept a good balance between them. I particularly loved how you focused on the less-romantic relationships between Arthur and Morgana and Gwen and Merlin; they were subtle, and still felt like love, but you kept the space between those and the romantic relationships defined.
I think Arthur had most of the best lines in here, and you have a particular knack for his mix of banter and melodrama. I'll stop gushing now, but great work!
Ee, thank you! I'm really delighted that this worked for you without knowing the book in question. I'm also so happy to hear that the Arthur-Morgana and Gwen-Merlin relationships worked for you -- they're just as important as the other relationships, and I didn't want to give them short shrift.
Thank you again for letting me know you liked this!
I am a mad fan of a "Fisherman of the Inland Sea" and the sedoretu of O, and I think the sedoretu = OT4 connection has been lurking in the back of my mind for a while now. I am thrilled to see that somebody else grabbed this idea and ran with it. And IT MAKES SENSE in this universe! Not just Arthur/Merlin/Morgana/Gwen, but Uther/Igraine/Nimueh/Tristan. BRAVA.
One tiny quibble: "Gaius" is spelled inconsistently, usually "Gauis", which is incorrect. Find and replace should fix that, yes? It would be a shame for a little typo to detract from such a wonderful story.

Oh, I'm thrilled you enjoyed this! Thank you so much -- I love Fisherman of the Inland Sea, and I'm really pleased this is one of those ideas that works outside my head, too. :D
I've only recently discovered Merlin (late to the party, as usual!) but this is wonderful! And I love how you crossed the universes over... now I may have to go hunt the book(s) up and read them, too! :)
Oh, you have so much good fic to read in this fandom -- you lucky thing!
I'm glad you liked this -- thanks for letting me know! Ursula le Guin's Fisherman of the Inland Sea is truly outstanding, I thoroughly recommend it. :)
