I was checking out the blogs linked at Another Voice earlier today, as those tend to have all the good stuff. It isn't that I don"t believe exactly that I want to see I picture, but... I want to see a picture of the dead "evildoer".
Yeah, I know - I'm a tad late to this party ... having said that, I'll say this -
Since it was US Navy SEAL Team 6 that did the deed, that information alone, in and of itself, is proof enough for me. *I* don't need anything else But as a mutual friend of ours likes to say, your mileage may vary).
Wolfie! Geez, I have missed you and the LJ friends I once interacted with daily.
I trust the SEALs too, but after the trauma of 911 and the online beheadings we have all seen, Americans deserve the right to see our enemy dead. Maybe it won't make me feel any better, but I would like find out.
The main problem I have with releasing any pics is that, in this digital age (i.e, PhotoShop), what pics might get released would either become altered by outsiders, or the charge made that they were altered by the US, with the claim made that the pics aren't really of OBL.
The loony conspiracy theorists are already making claims that we really didn't kill OBL, that we have him stashed somewhere to milk him of intel; that we have him stashed somewhere, to get a "show trial" set up, etc., etc., etc. These are some of the same people who say we never went to the moon, all evidence that proves we did notwithstanding.
Then, there is the concern that showing any pics of a dead OBL could further enflame the Islamofascists (as if they need any excuse to get "enflamed" - an aside - "enflamed" to me sounds like IBS)
I am fed up with the "enflamed" crowd. I am way over worrying about their delicate sensitivities, and I don't see any of those people worrying about the feelings of westerners.
