Sunshine Challenge: Orange

I have negative connotations towards the color orange because it is the main color of my teams' biggest sports rivals: The SF Giants, The Houston Astros, and Oklahoma State University.

The Giants made history when they hired former Softball star Alyssa Nakken. She became MLB's first female coach back in January. It seems that Manager Kapler hired ( Read more... )

Wait, your team is the As? How did I never know that. I wouldn't call Giants their biggest rivals though. Though I suppose they do have the Bay Bridge rivalry. (As a Giants fan, I consider Dodgers our biggest rivals but to each their own lol)

When Alyssa got signed I didn't see anything negative about it from fans. I think Giants fans would've taken to her, but who knows about the others. I'm surprised that she is a base coach, I honestly thought she would be a bench coach.

They players aren't forgetting about the Astros which is good. I'm sure by the end of this weekend most of the Astros (or at least the ones who were apart of the scandal) will be hit.

That's fair, the Giants probably don't think of the A's much at all :P But we always got super into the Bay Bridge Rivalry - and we were salty about how much money got poured into the Giants and their new stadium, whereas Oakland was like the poor cousin no one in the Bay wanted to talk about. Needless to say, that rich team across the bay certainly never gained my favor.

Yeah, I was thinking about opposing team fans being dicks to Nakken. Glad that can't happen right now. Baseball has had enough angst and drama to last all year, I think.

That is true, Oracle is new and shiny and isn't (no offense) the Oakland stadium one of the worst in the league? It's a bit run down isn't it? Even when Red Sox play As I can't say I pay much attention to the surrounding stuff.

Oh yeah, it totally is. We like to say it has a lot of history :P And I really liked the pavilion thing they made where they bring in different food trucks, and it sort of feels like a street fair at the plaza level. There's nothing around the coliseum, not even any bars or anything, just the freeway and the BART station.
