This was really interesting to read. I particularly like the part on how fanfiction had helped you learn about diversity in sexuality, kinks and identities. Looking back at it, it's my case, too. And I think it's just wonderful!

Yes, I'm so thankful fandom gives us all the freedom to write/explore sex topics. There's no other place like it!

The point you make about learning about sex, varying sexualities and gender expressions are so true. I have found fandom and fanfiction such a wonderful space to learn and explore at my own pace and in a safe place.

I at least use squee! Great word :D

And I'm glad to hear that :D There's not really another word like it!

Having once done "Bellamy and Octavia from The 100 read the Harry Potter books" (I can't remember whether you ever watched that show; if not, there was a reason why Octavia might have related to Harry Potter) I cannot judge you for Sam and Dean fanboying over Harry Potter!

haha, nice! Maybe we all had a Harry Potter/other fandom phase. I didn't watch the 100, but I can understand the impulse. I thought Sam might relate to Harry Potter, too.
