I dunno, I've always found sage a more grandmotherly-smelling herb. XD Maybe because it's kind of dry-smelling and grey-wrinkly in appearance? Haha.

Sage IS dry, which is a good point - I really wanted to like it for a while, but I don't like dry scents, and sage does have that quality. And it IS grandmotherly in appearance, rofl.
When I think of 'grandmotherly smelling' I think of 'old lady smelling' which to me is soapy, powdery florals like certain roses, most violets, orris, and wisteria. Also, many ambers. *runs away, terrified of DECREPIT POWDERY DOOM*

Haha, I guess I make a distinction in my head, hithertofore (best word EVAR) unnoticed, between "smells like an old lady" and "smells like my grandmother's house," which is where I put kind of dry, dark, dusty, perfumy smells. ahahaha. But yeah, definitely agreed on all those old-fashioned florals as being more properly grandmotherly.
