BPAL description: The perfected winter rose, dew covered and freshly cut.

In the bottle: Colourless oil. Fresh, green, rosy. I feel like I can smell the sharpness of the thorns; there's a bite to this. It's also dewy and clean and vaguely aquatic.

Wet: Sharper, almost chemically and plastic. Also a bit fruitier, but in an artificial way that is ( Read more... )

Interesting.

Both 07 & 08 are the same shove your face in a florist refrigerator of roses and inhale scent for me. I get the rose, the stem and the sharp cold. <3 doesn't begin to describe this one for me.

They don't change and they wear for ages. And now you've made me think of it I have to go put it on ;)

Weird how chemistry alters things.

It really is weird, because I wear most rose scents very well, and that one vintage of RR.

But I do theorise that people are generally PQ or RR rose people (if they are rose people at all). I adore PQ 07.

I love them both. The reason I don't have more PQ is that I have a special Rose scent, Arabian Rose, that a fellow called the Perfumed Dragon does and it's quite similar. I have over an ounce of that just so I wouldn't run out any time soon ;)

I like the RR for the freshness and the PQ/AR for the more sultry feel.

Impressive! I don't find many people who can wear both.

I have Havisham (well, I wear it sparingly as I paid a tremendous amount for my not-full bottle) for fresh rose. I would like more fresh rose scents, actually. I have a ton of 'sultry' ones, which is exactly the right term. PQ, Kali, Libra 07.

Victoria is soft rose, as is Delerium and April Fool, but Havisham is the only FRESH rose. I wish I had a perfume of The Queen's Croquet Ground (which I LOVE) - it's like awesome fresh roses + grass.
