So the torture. o___o Your cruelty knows no bounds. That second to last paragraph socks the reader in the solar plexus, did you realize that? Hmmmm? The little details in this are deadly too, the music, the memories, every tiny hint of body language. Fucking god, Imo, there better be more to this!

Man, you're my god. I love everything about your prose - the way you suggest, feelings, senses hanging in the air like smoke. Hi. ::waves:: I friended you yesterday, partially so I could easily read things like this.

I love the tone in this muchly. I don't think it comes across as awkward at all. Teenage angst when it comes in contact with real world tragedy naturally has that feel, I think, and you captured it so well: the helplessness both in the situation and in the area of comforting others, and how difficult it is to face even the most mundane of things after something like this occurs (the part with the record player ::sob::). It was really lovely.
