It's been 6 years since my abortion, and all of a sudden I find myself absolutely obsessed with pregnancy. I'm so fascinated and amazed that I am having thoughts of becoming a midwife.

I feel absolutely crazy.

Been there, through it, and have come back out again on the other side.

There's nothing wrong with wanting children, previous abortion or no, just try to be sure you are comfortable with your reasons for wanting them (even if in the end those boil down to "just because").

From my experience it was DEFINATELY worth looking at those reasons because ultimately it turned out that having children really had nothing to do with the life I wanted to live, I think I mostly wanted them because my abortion made me think about them so much.

It's a sad thing that so much of our society is driven to make you think abotu why you might NOT want to have children, but very little is done to make people think about why exactly they DO want to have them.

i felt crazy after my abortion. i couldn't stop staring at pregnant women i would see places. every baby i saw i compared to how old my child would have been. i have have this really beautiful picture of a pregnant woman in my room... it's a certain photographer that does black and whites of pregnant women, but i forget her name. supposedly this is normal. i'm pre-med and graduating undergrad in 5 mos. whereas i've always wanted to do trauma and/or orthopedics i've recently starting thinking about ob-gyn. anyway, just wanted to let you know i'm right there with you.
