I'm not sure I see the resemblance...but it's in my headcanon that the Saiou siblings are the last of a centuries-old family, and pretty much all psychics in the YGO-verse have an ancestor from that family somewhere along the lines. So maybe Rick does too.

It's more vague than anything and probably entirely in my easily amused head due to ridiculous mullets and the fact that there is only maybe four different facial shapes in this franchise. I mean, hell, there's artwork out there about Pearson and Divine resembling each other which I find even harder to see XD But man, it's one of those things that's really spectacular to think about.

And then the reason Rick stays on through all the mess that comes later is partially because he feels guilty about being part of the reason that Bolger and Co. is failing. Just. Ffff. also, white collar crime! :D I had that Rick-sent-to-Satellite AU in mind when writing that. :D

It is so much because he feels guilty. And also because "whelp, that whole psychic society I was part of just went and collapsed... but I kind of feel like I belong here" But mostly because he feels guilty. Because he is adorable like that.

♥ I actually started working on that thing again a few weeks back.... because, you know, world needs more threesomes and there aren't many ways that can happen. But I couldn't figure out what to do with it so I just wrote HSAU instead. XD
