Voices can be hard.

My boyfriend has a constant criticism that he can hear me in my writing, or if not me, some random femme. Which is bad when it's um, some of my slash I'm inflicting on him, or a piece of original fic from a male POV. >-<

I'm not Mary Sue-ing, I swearz!

So yes, I'm always in awe when people manage to capture the right voice...

if only I could take notes on how to avoid sounding like myself!

For me, it's about word choice and sentence structure. The words people choose to use and the way they build their sentences are always unique. The only thing my head is good for is words, so I use that to my advantage. :)
