Day X

The kid went and got himself captured. He was hit on the head with a piece of fruit. I don’t think I’ve been training him hard enough. We fell into a world filled with weird furry creatures and a freak whirlwind. The princess spoke to the whirlwind. The kid said she’s always had a talent to ‘hear the cries of the lonely’. Do all princesses have magic in their blood?

The feather was found very easily in this world. The furry things had it. All I could do in this place was slice a tree trunk in half… and watch the silly wizard prance around like an idiot. We had to leave him behind as a hostage. We come back and they’re teaching him to dance.

Day ©

We found ourselves in a strange country today. Cute furry creatures live here. Oddly enough, they have nice thick coats of fur in a tropical country. My own coat became unbearable rather quickly here. I don’t know why they need such fur. Something wasn’t right here…maybe I should mention it to Kuronta. We found the feather quickly and were ready to move on in no time. And Mokona didn’t detect the feather when it was already very close…something odd indeed. The only thing the others found while I stayed behind with the cute furry things was a whirlwind. Before we left, it came by and rained flowers on Sakura-chan. It was strong enough that I was forced to hold on to Kuro-chu. Although perhaps forced isn’t quite the right word.

Day X

We got separated. The kid, princess and manjuu are nowhere to be found. I, of course, got stuck with the mage. We’re staying at a jinja. The members gave us a rough greeting, but with a smile the wizard smoothed everything over with the kannushi. He seemed happy enough to sort things out, but even so, that wizard gets people to fall for that stupid grin and start talking.

I don’t fall for that stupid grin.

Ashura’s name was mentioned, and the mage turned white. After drinking all night, I thought I was  going to get him to talk. Talk, and actually say something as opposed to his usual blather.  His face changed… and then the kannushi interrupted us. What a pain.

Day ©

Why is it Kuro-rin? I could have gotten lost with Syaoran or Sakura, but here I am, lost with Kuro-pyu. Even Mokona isn’t here to distract us. Mokona isn’t too far, though, as we still understand each other. I wish this wasn’t the case.

We drank all night. Unlike the fake liquor of Oto, this stuff didn’t dull the pain. Instead, every sip washed over my defences like a wave. I knew it was happening, and I welcomed it. The temptation to look into ruby eyes and confess becomes harder to resist every time he looks at me as though he’s ready to help carry the weight that keeps me from breathing. I can’t tell him. I can’t, but I want to. A foolish part of me whispers that maybe he could do something. Maybe he wouldn’t blame me. When those eyes catch mine, it’s far too easy to believe.

Day X

The sky in Shara opened up, and we got sucked into another world. Now we’re in Yama. Still just the mage and I. Wherever the others are, they’re too far. I can understand the Yama citizens fairly well, but I can’t understand a word the wizard says. Neither can anyone else, which at least means that I haven’t been introduced as anything other than Kurogane.

Day ©

The sky in Shara opened, and we were transported into another country, Yama. Mokona must have moved on, and fortunately, even though we were far from the others, we got taken along as well. We still haven’t found them, though. It’s Kuro-chan and I again. This time, however, Mokona must be very far away, because Kuro-pi and I can’t understand each other. He can speak to the people in this country, though. Their language must be close to his. If I couldn’t be here with Mokona, at least I’m here with someone who can communicate.

Day X

If we’re going to be here for awhile, at least I have something to do. Battling for King Yasha keeps us busy. The opposing clan aren’t bad. Ashura’s clan. When the mage first saw Ashura, he couldn’t look away. He was frozen. After awhile, he muttered something. I have no idea what, but the relief in his voice was unmistakeable. This Ashura isn’t his Ashura.

Day ©

A different Ashura. From a country where the name was mentioned to one where there actually is an Ashura. Not a good trend. When I first saw Ashura, I had to be certain. I decided there was no possibility that it’s my Ashura. …….When I first saw Ashura, Kuro-pin moved his horse (well, horse-thing, really) in front of mine and surveyed the battlefield. Then when I said to myself, “Not mine”, he moved away. It was almost as if he’d been waiting. Waiting for my reaction.

I wonder what will happen when Syaoran finally shows up here. Will Syaoran kill for the feather? That’s a lot of weight to carry, even if the person isn’t really a person anymore. The decision to kill someone for your own purpose, not for self-defence or revenge - is a difficult decision. Would I kill…?

We fight for Yasha, and I can see Kuro-puu enjoys it. He’s busy, and the other clan has some good fighters, as well. He enjoys the challenge, Kuro-bun does. I think the only thing keeping him from being one of the elite here is the fact that we’re not native to this country. He’s very respected here. My skills are praised, as well, (near as I can figure) but I can never fight like Kuro-run does. Even though he hasn’t killed anyone, once he takes someone down, they stay down. I’ve mostly been giving him support. I have no more desire to become a useful tool for any king. I’ll keep an eye on Kuro-puu, but that’s about it.

Day X

After all this time, I know that idiot wizard must understand some of the Yama language. He pretends he doesn’t, though. Liar. Despite this, he’s quite popular. I suppose people think that stupid grin is a sign of amiability.

Day ©

It’s difficult not to learn a language when you’re fully immersed in it. At this point, I’m certain Kuro-mi knows I’m being deliberately obtuse, but he can’t really do much about it. When I sense he’s getting impatient, I run off and drink with some of the other soldiers. There’s always someone who’s willing to bring me along. The whole time I’m away from him, I feel so guilty. He hasn’t left me alone for a moment since we got here. He’s my link to understanding these people, and he knows it. No matter what I do, he won’t abandon me where I can’t communicate. Kuro-sama is so chivalrous it makes me want to scream. Why couldn’t he be a bastard? Back in Hanshin, I thought he may have gone that way. But it was all an act. How funny that we both wear masks. The difference is, his is hiding a great heart. When someone needs him, he steps up. When someone needs help, I stand back. I let him do all the rescuing. Why did it have to be him? Did the witch know what an effect he’d have on me?

Day X

The kid and princess showed up on Ashura’s side tonight. I told the mage not to let on that it was us. They disappeared before we could do anything else.

Day ©

Sakura-chan and Syaoran-kun appeared on the battlefield tonight, on Ashura’s side. Before I could call out, Kuro-pon leaned over and told me not to give away that it was us. Of course, I understood. Mokona is nearby again. Kuro-chi wants an opportunity to test Syaoran’s abilities. Always the teacher.

Syaoran-kun is here now…I wonder if he’ll find the feather.

*********************************

Day X

I was waiting for him. He rode right up to us, the dumb kid. If it hadn’t been us, he probably would have been killed. I went after him, and to my surprise, the wizard backed me up. The kid was good. He pulled off a decent move. Not good enough to defeat me by a long shot, but good just the same. Ashura interrupted us. Interfering on behalf of a minion is not the norm, it was a bit of a surprise. Guess the kid is just that likeable.

I went after Ashura, but both another warrior and Yasha himself got involved. A real pain. It was getting good.

Day ©

Poor Kuro-pyu. He was really getting into things tonight, and then we had to go. He fought Syaoran-kun, and I believe Syaoran-kun did pretty well. Then Ashura got involved. Not my Ashura, but still, the sight of Ashura aiming at Kuro-sama…I think my heart stopped for a moment. I only barely recovered in time to stop a warrior of Ashura from hitting Kuronta. Kuro-chi complained about my interfering, but I think he may have noticed that I let someone get closer to him than I ever have before. I shouldn’t care… but I do.

************************************

Day X

I went at the kid immediately tonight. He managed to knock me far back. It was a little strange, but before I could do anything, Ashura started to rain destruction. Ashura went straight to Yasha - and stabbed him. He disappeared, and the feather appeared. The mage didn’t look too shocked. I’m not surprised. Ashura gave the kid the feather - and then the whole place started to fall apart. The kid wouldn’t leave Ashura, I had to go get him. The fool kid could have been killed there. It was dumb. I still have a lot of work to do with him. After all this, we got taken back to Shara. It was completely different. The wizard thinks that Shara is the future of the world we were just in, and we changed the future. At least it seems like a happier place now. Then the manjuu had to go and use my head as a base when it sucked up the holy swords of Yasha and Ashura. Stupid pork bun.

Day ©

Everything came to an end. Ashura stabbed Yasha tonight, and gave the feather to Syaroan-kun. The feather wasn’t a surprise, but I didn’t expect Ashura to be the one to get it. Shortly after Syaoran received the feather, the place began to crumble. Syaoran-kun being Syaoran-kun, Kuro-ron had to go get him before he went down with Ashura. When we were transported down to the ground, Kuro-poppo let him know it was us. It was a relief to talk to Syaoran-kun again, and to see Sakura-chan and Mokona. I made sure to grab hold of them when we left this time, so we don’t get separated again. I don’t know how much more alone time with Kuro-sama I can take.

When we left, we fell back into Shara. It was very different, though. Happier. I believe that Syaoran’s actions in the country we just left affected Shara. I think it’s the future of the country we just left behind. One person having such a great impact on the future of an entire world is a frightening thought, and I think it bothers Syaoran-kun.

Then Mokona sucked up the holy swords of Ashura and Yasha - from Kuro-chi’s head. He was quite put out. It’s good to be back with the rest of the group.
