miserable.

I've written so many papers in the last 2 weeks that my brain is goo. Meanwhile, I had a paper due yesterday that I won't have finished until at least tomorrow. I've never handed anything in late before. I feel so disappointed in myself. As every day passes, I can feel bits of my final mark flying weightlessly away like dandelion fluff- and yet I ( Read more... )

Everyone hits the wall every now and then.

Find someone who's literary skills you admire &or trust, and try and get them to read the essay & give advice, suggestions or tips on improvement.

The basic proof read stepped up to a "help I need a second opinion" read.

If that isn't going to happen, try examining your thesis, and see if that's the problem. Re-writing is obviously not an option at this point, but a few minor alterations might make it easier for you to get this one done.

Best of luck.

thanks for the encouragement! Sadly, I didn't really have much of a choice in my topic. It's a good idea about getting someone to proof-read it though- I'll see if I can steal someone who isn't also furiously trying to get papers done, and ask if they'll give me an opinion. I think it's also a matter that I'm going stir-crazy. I've been doing literally nothing but write papers for the past couple weeks, and I think I've exhausted my mental capacities. I'll try to recharge a bit and return to it in a few hours. At least she only deducts 5% per weekday, so the weekend is kind of a freebie. Thank you for being so sensible. I'm such an emotional mess at this time of year. :)

Well, exhausting your brain power does in fact, suck. A lot.
I hope the break helps to get the thought process going again -- none of that good ol' liqiud lubrication necessary.

Thank god for freebies hey?

Good luck Sheila, I hope your paper turns out well even with those nasty deductions.

I was able to get my papers in on time, but I still feel your angst. Papers are big piles of suck, especially when the topic is chosen for you. I at least got to be a bit creative with one of my term papers this time around; I wrote about the similarities between (and I shit you not on this one) Platypuses..... and Sharks.

Have fun guessing what they have in common. I love biology for stuff like this.

PS gonna be home for Xmas? I will be! at least for a bit!
