I don't who "jameth" is, but I'm sorry that the ongoing poll results are being posted and that his campaign is being permitted to run in the way it is being run...

I am wondering what your idea of people wanting to shut down communities because of their content (the ones that are not offensive) but about persional things.

I'm scared shitless that my community would be on the chopping block cause some people might not agree with us on the face that its a disorder.

Generally speaking I am in favour of free speech. Where I draw the line is the point at which the content becomes illegal (we're mainly talking about extreme pornography or hate speech here) or is clearly intended to cause harm towards others.

I am aware that there was some controversy about so-called "pro-ana" communities a while back. In fact mostly the controversy was over the fact that LiveJournal refused to shut down several pro-ana communities on the grounds that there was no proof that they were actively inciting people to harm themselves.

So long as your community is intended for people to give support to each other, and not for helping people to harm themselves, it should not be shut down.
