Arthur is like that. He lets Tess (A = labradoodle T= westie) run roughshod over him. And when he used to go to the dog park, he behaved as what my friend called "the homeschooler of dogs" because he had NO IDEA how to behave. He would sort of bounce around the outskirts of the dogpack, and then he would come over to me, like "Hi! Hi! I'm going to hang out with hte grownups now!"
LOL! Aww, Arthur. That's so cute. I always find it funny when people think of big dogs as the "scary" ones, because it does seem like far more often they're the good-natured, predictable ones, while the little ones... have something to prove. *g*
(Kind of reminds me of our parakeet - we thought he'd be overjoyed when we got a new baby parakeet, but in reality, while he was polite enough, he actually acted quite offended when she tried to cuddle with him and make friends. He kept edging toward us instead, and generally acting like, "Go away. You're just a silly bird. I'm gonna hang out over here, with my human flock.")
I wish my cats would learn to man-up around the kitten like that. Especially Bug. She still acts like Pepper is this big scary thing to be mostly avoided, and it's a bit of a bummer since Pepper really needs someone to run around the house with, which Bug would be perfect for. But, alas, it's not yet to be, because Bug is being a wuss :/
Haha, oh, your poor cats... that's so sad. Cats just seem to be weird like that. You look at them, and it seems so obvious they desperately need the extra interaction, someone to play with... and yet, when presented with a perfectly willing and good-natured playmate, they suddenly decide that they couldn't possibly go anywhere near that horrible creature. XD
