Fannishness!

Well... erm, seems whenever I post around here lately, it's to apologize for my general absence 'round here. So I'm not going to. Apologize, that is. ;P So. Moving right along...

Erm, that'd be referring to a particular type of kick, not someone who hangs around with superheroes. ;P
It's a good thing you clarified that! *wipes off interesting mental picture of Cami in Robin-costume hunting bad guys with Batman in Gotham City* LOL. Congrats on becoming Side Kick of the Month, Cami! :D It's sounds like something to really be proud of!

Oh my - this reminds me that I wanted to start reading the Scarlet Pimpernel books ages ago... *hides*

They found human remains there? That's gruesome. I'm glad they're not real recent, though.

Btw, the cat pics are too funny! :D

Thank you! LOL, nope I haven't quite joined the costumed and caped crowd yet. *bg* I'm just so happy to have earned it, though! Particularly now, when I didn't think I had a chance. :D

But oh, oh! You haven't read the Scarlet Pimpernel books yet? o.o You really, really must. *g* And to make it easier, they're all available to read online in order here on the Blakeney Manor website. Just start with "The Scarlet Pimpernel" and go on from there - there are a couple of prequel books prequels listed before it, but they aren't actually about him, and I wouldn't recommend starting with them. ;)

That's wonderful, thank you so much for the link! *is excited* That's much easier than having to hunt the books down on eBay, especially since I don't have much time atm. *g*

Hee hee... I love those LOLcats. And congrats on being sidekick! My daughter is just now learning side kicks and it's, erm, a bit funny to watch when she tries to do more than one in a row.

Eww. Bodies under a BBQ place. *shudder* You'll have to update us what they find out about it.

LOLcats are just fun. ;D Best of luck to your daughter in learning side kicks! They are tough ones - particularly those multiple sets - and I've spent plenty of time flailing pathetically. *g* But veeery gradually, they've actually become my favorite type of kick. So there's lots of hope. :)

Heh, yeah, not a pleasant thought at all. I've heard rumor that it's possible the bodies are old enough that it might be a Native American burial site - which would be, probably, the least creepy of explanations. But no real information yet. We shall see...

Yes, an ancient burial site is old enough that it moves from "creepy" to "historically significant and fascinating." Fingers crossed that's what it is.

And my daughter moved up from separate one-on-one instruction to the "main floor" for the first time last night. She didn't expect it so soon and panicked at first but she managed to get through most her moves without too much trouble--none were perfect but that's not what it's about. I was proud of her. :)

Ooo, congratulations to your daughter! That is awesome - though yes, definitely an intimidating step. We had a first-timer today in class, and it reminded me afresh of just how nerve-wracking that beginning is... Good for her, on making it through!

Oh, awesome about the Side Kick! (And LOL, I did immediately think of superheroes, which, I assure you, is a very fun association. ^_^) Anyway...yaaaay! *applauds you* :D

Mm, such fond memories of the SP...I really cannot read those books or do anything in that fandom without having such a lovely wash of nostalgia. *huggles* (And I reallyreally need to get my own copy of El Dorado. I ordered it for V for her birthday, and it was all I could do to give it up. ;D)

And oh, wah--I'm going to have to be disappointing. I got so thrilled at the possibility of an SP book I hadn't heard of (eee, eee, eee!!!), but then I was able to look inside it on Amazon, and from the first few pages, it looks like it's The Elusive Pimpernel under a different title. >:( *cries* Man, with a name like The After House, I was hoping it would be post-Triumph or something. *sigh ( ... )

Hee, thank you! I'm just so excited to have actually got it... especially now, when I thought all chances were pretty much gone. :D *strikes super-heroic pose*

Mmm, yes indeed - there are just so many wonderful associations with the SP... Going back to it isn't merely a matter of enjoying the books themselves, but of bringing back all the cozy, happy memories all over again. (Oh! And if at some point you do want to order some of the books, I can send you links to the best-priced places I found, if you like. Might save you needing to do over some of the searching I did. ;) )

Waah about The After House, though! And it sounded like such an intriguing title... *is so mad* Seriously, I can't believe none of the sellers actually say that. It's like... false advertising, or something. *pouts* Heh, but thank you for figuring that out, though! It would've been rather a mess, trying to return the book. :P

Bleh, yeah... human remains under the barbecue place? Not a pleasant thought, at all. Rumor has it, though, that they may be old enough ( ... )
