This story is a bit out of character.  It's written as an Abby/Gibbs fic with Lila, but that's really just the surface.  I've spent most of today's hours that weren't at work crying about my mum, so this is a product of that.  It's a reflection on death, loss, cemetaries and love.  About half way through I demanded that I put my feet back on the

Eeek. Upon re-reading my intro, I realized that I may have given the wrong impression. My mum is still very much with us, but she was diagnosed with terminal cancer three months ago. Breast cancer from five years ago metastasized to her bones. Still, she qualified for some lovely lovely medicine, so we're all holding hope!

Thanks for the hugs. My mum actually really likes it when I tell her people send her e-hugs.

That was so beautiful and real. I loved it and plan to read it over again. I am so sorry about your Mum. I wish I was able to write like this during my mourning over lost people. I am also sending you all my love and compassion too, hoping that this fic was a little cathartic for you and helped you in some way.

Wow. I'm not sure weather to react that that was cool or that it was strange. I'll settle with interesting and well writen. It was very good, except for the fact that you almost had for a minute that Lila was dead.

once again, its like the work of gods. it is so incredibly smart of you to have this hysterics attack, cos it is totally plausible. abby would have to deal with gibbs' past if she were ever to have any sort of depth in a relationship. i cannot get over how cute lila is, and what a perfect name you have chosen. once again, protective and caring gibbs hits all the right spots sweet on the heartstrings

Little Lila. Sighsqueeswoon, thinking about all those thing you mentioned is making me want it to be really cold so I can st in front of the heater with a good book. Electric blankets are love too. As is toast. I live for toast! Don't worry, girly sides are ok!

This is so beautiful on many many levels. The colour imagery I love; it's very powerful and conjures the visual picture straight away.

Abby's reaction to her dream is perfect. I know what it's like to lose someone that your world revolves around and your unconcscious mind does all sorts of things that result in you waking up exactly the way you described and having to actually check whether or not it was real.

And Gibbs. Such a perfect thing to do. How much do I love him?!

All good thoughts to your mum and you; my sister's successfully fighting ovarian cancer so I'm with you on that journey.

I need to have a mini friending meme on my LJ, because I can't believe you two havent met. In my opinion, the two of you should friend each other. There are a million awesome people here on LJ, but a handful of people that are so beyond awesome that I get all warm and fuzzy when they post, be it fic or about themselves. You two are in that special group. Plus, is there any better friends then those that write so well (and you both write Abby/Gibbs!)
