LJ Idol Season 8, Week 7, Bupkis, Danger

Dec 07, 2011 20:39

Whenever I think of the word anger I put a D in front of it, and that spells Danger with a capital D. As a child I threw horrible temper tantrums, but not just as a two or three-year-old, I was lying on the floor, kicking and screaming at age eight and nine. Apparently this is less common than toddlers throwing all out tantrums. It progressed to ( Read more... )

Pain control is a very difficult thing for dcctors to manage. I had two women in there 80s fell and hips replaced. One asked for pain meds an hour before it was due every three hours the other never took one pain shot or pill even through rehab. Humans have different coping levels for pain. My 8 may be your 4 and his 2. There are a lot of new pain meds recently approved by the FDA has you doctor looked into them. Are you a candidate for a implanted pain pump. Any of these with increasing doses of pain patches can improve quality of life.

Then there's the last result where pain becomes too unbearable you can have the nerve bundle cut in the neck that stops all feeling of pain. But touch goes too.

My heart goes out to you. Sending a long virtual hug.

The pain clinic here said there is nothing they can do for me. That is what they told my neurologist when he tried to refer me so he takes the best care of me he can. I take fentanyl, trileptal, and baclofen to try to control the trigeminal nerve pain and anasthesia dolorosa. I've had brain surgery, nerve blocks, botox, and tried a whole host of medication. I've been to doctors in Boston at three different hospitals and none of them will touch me now either.

I'm curious about new pain meds approved though. Are any better than fentanyl? I worry what happens when it stops working.

There are pain meds stronger but they are used in internal pumps only. Do you use the patch or the lollypops for your fentanyl?

Thanks so much. It was therapeutic to write this. I was glad I could work something therapeutic into idol. It saves me on writing time.

I'm pretty confident that my therapist can help me get in touch with my anger. Its just a matter of time.

Anger is a difficult thing. I'm afraid of it, not so much my own, but that of others. If people start to shot, pound on things, throw things, or show any other kind of aggression, I shrink away.

Hopefully, your therapist will help you find healthy ways to get back in touch with the part of yourself that feels anger. That way, it won't lead to danger, or, will be less likely to, in any case.
