This is a very selfish rant, so if you're not in the mood, don't read it.

I really love how graduation's on Saturday and like, FOUR PEOPLE are definitely coming to watch me graduate. I've got confirmation from Dad, Mom, Anne, and Michael G.

After graduation, Alex is having a graduation party, and it's sort of a joint thing in that I can invite ( Read more... )

=) Lucky you. It seems like a lot of people's families here are doing that as well, but mine just...aren't. I mean, I'm thankful that my parents are at least bothering with this one; a lot of the time, they don't show up to stuff.

:( I'm sorry. In the sense that your family lives far away, and very few people are coming to see you graduate, I sympathize. I'm only going to have my mother, father, Angie, and Miguel in the audience. Possibly Gigi as well.

And, in the sense that your parents are not involved/seem not to care about your graduation, I empathize. I obviously can't judge, because I don't live with you, but I get the impression that you are often marginalized by your family. They take you for granted. That doesn't mean they don't love you, but they still sort of trample carelessly all over that love. I sometimes wish I could sit your parents down and give them a good talking-to, because you are honestly one of the kindest, most selfless people I know. Your parents have no idea how good they have it.

Because I can't change the situation, at least think of it this way... Even if it turns out that your family's not shouting the loudest at graduation when your name is called, you can bet I will ;)

(Even if it IS against the rules.)

i'm too lazy to log in. so you get this anonymously. xD

you know i'm coming to graduation. and i'd come to the party but i've got that damn wedding to go to. i'd ditch it but kevin's coming and we've been stressed out from this thing. it's all really ridiculous. all i'll do is sit there and flail around a bit about the wedding and listen to my stomach make weird noises while kevin tries not to laugh through the whole thing.
yeah, we're a mature bunch. oh well.

i have some very interesting news for you. please don't kill me. it involves jacob.
