And yes, how amazing is the numbering-the-sections thing?! It wasn't me though, it was all Bee just benevolently sprinkling a little of her genius and magnificence on my little story!! I'd been stupidly ambitious with the structure (ie starting halfway through the story) which led to some tense difficulties... until Bee came up with this which is good for clarity, clearly but also so much more.
I'm so thrilled you like this - coming from someone whose work I enjoy and admire so much, it really means a lot :)
Thankyou! I'm so glad you enjoyed it! The idea for the numbering was all workerbee73. The woman's a genius. You give me way more credit than I deserve re: the girl, I'm afraid! Hadn't made the Bourne connection at all. Nor the Drakov's daughter connection! But I LOVE that idea, so sure, why not! That is now the official reading of that scene. :D I had no clear ideas on who she is really, just wanted to suggest it alluded to Natasha's own (deleted) memory of being a child and picked up for the Red Room, which is somehow fighting to resurface... But your reading of it makes me sound much smarter, so let's go with that!! :D Thanks so much for reading and commenting!
No such thing as a late comment! Thankyou for reading and commenting at all! I'm really glad you liked it. :) I think the unmaking/remaking thing is just fascinating, actually.... I've got some vague plot bunnies for following on from here, once they get back to SHIELD... but I don't know if they'll ever amount to anything. If they do, I'll let you know :)

I love this version of events (I'm a sucker for stories where Natasha spares a child).
I love the alternation of POV and stylistically how the numeral style was individual to each of them.
