Nightmarish Vision.

Sam was tossing and turning. In his head a vision of Dean. Tortured, bloodied. Begging for Sam to save him was playing over and over again. In his sleep his hands clutched at the sheets. Small whimpers left his throat. His body was shaking, sweat dappled his brow. Leaving tufts of shaggy brown hair clinging to it. Then suddenly Lucifer was in the ( Read more... )

"Sam. Sam?" The voice echoed through the room, but there was no visible presence. If Sam was paying attention, he might realize it sounded like the voice of the angel who had appeared earlier. Then, of course, it might be hard to tell without a face.

The hell he thought; eyes glanced around the room. That voice, he couldn't place it. But it was familiar. It was kind of comforting actually. His hands shook. "Who are you? What do you want from me? Please--just stop, show me your face. I can't take this." it was too much for the young man. Tears finally found there way unchecked down his cheeks. He'd fallen asleep crying and now it was starting all over again.

"Sam. It's all right. It's me, Castiel." Cas hissed in frustration. "You don't know me, yet, but I promise, I'm not going to hurt you. I'm not Gabriel, I can't be in two places at once, so this will have to do for now."

Sam doesn't know why but it comforts him and he nods. Even though he can't be seen. "You--you're the one from the bar earlier? Right?" his voice sounds slightly more steady. Even if he couldn't see the person, it was better then returning to the torment of his own head. "How--how do you know me?"

It jolted her out of a sound sleep. Sitara woke gasping, bolting upright in bed, shaking in fear. No, not again, please not again I can't do this I just can't, pleasepleaseplease!! Trembling violently, she tumbled out of bed and scrabbled for her robe, pulling the thick cotton over her t-shirt. Fumbling fingers missed the doorknob and she had to try three times to get it open before heading out into the hall.

Certain she'd see the pits of Hell in her living room, Sitara gulped great breaths of air as she recognized her own furniture, the house quiet and dark. There was no other sound, save for the klaxoning in her own head. Without another thought, she whirled and headed to the spare bedroom, not bothering to knock as she flung open the door and spied Sam, sitting up and panting.

"...Sam!"

Sam started when the door was flung open. For a moment he looks scared, defensive. Jumping from the bed as if to protect himself. But then he breathes slowly. Orientating himself, it was just Sitara. He must have woke her up.

Finally his gaze is brought up to hers. Tear-stained cheeks, trembling hands as he flops back to sit on the bed. Hands folded over his knees. His voice is choked; strained when he speaks. "Sorry--just a--a nightmare. That's all. I didn't mean to wake you."

It was on the tip of her tongue to say that he hadn't woken her, it was her hellish nightmares that had done so, but she just smiled shyly and shook her head.

"It's all right, Sam." Concern filled her eyes as she edged a bit further around the door, flicking on the lamp on the bedside table. "Are you all right? Do you want a drink?"

Sam sat silent for a moment. Staring down at his hands. He didn't want a drink. He'd been drinking way too much, honestly. Instead he just shakes his head slowly. Taking a deep breath he looks up at Sitara finally.

His voice is low. "Can I--" he pauses. It's kind of an awkward thing to ask. "Can I have a hug?"

It was the sound of tossing and turning that had awoken him. Merlin blearily rubbed his eyes as he continued to follow it. Already, he was getting sick of this...Twenty Ten world and wanted to go home. A lot of things were noisy and complicated even if the fizzing tonic had been good.

The noises stopped for a louder one followed. He furrowed his brows, wondering who Dean was and why he was being called for. Merlin raised his hand and knocked on the door.

we assumed he was; so he's most welcome angrypuppysammy May 19 2010, 16:22:23 UTC
When Sam heard that knock on the door, his head snapped up. Shit, who had he woken up. He hoped it wasn't the other guy here. He'd taken the room for the night; since Merlin hadn't been there. Rising slowly he wipes at his cheeks.

A trembling hand opens the door, cautiously as he looks at. There is no smile; just a broken, tear stained gaze as he sees the other. This had to be Merlin "S--sorry, Sitara let me stay. I didn't mean to wake anyone. I'm--I'm Sam" it was odd to introduce himself so freely. But here he could be himself; it was out in the rest of the world he had to lie.

Merlin undid the red kerchief at his neck and held it out to the other man. "It's mostly clean." he offered with a smile. "I'm Merlin, by the way. Um...I don't know where Sitara keeps her sleeping draughts but...maybe I could help you look for them? It seemed to be a real nightmare that you were having."

He stood awkwardly. "Who's Dean?"

Sam took the kerchief, probably cleaner then some of the beds he'd slept on in his life. No worries on that Merlin; Sammy boy is used to Demon blood, and all kinds of gross things. He's hardly that finicky "Don't think they'd help, but thanks"

Sam steps back to the let the other in; he didn't want to go back to sleep and since the guy seemed talkative. He'd take the company, anything to banish that image from his mind. When asked the final question, Sam looks away. Eyes closed tightly "He's my brother."

He seemed so frantic and troubled to her that she felt as if she had no choice but to act. Quietly, Ashael appeared in the corner of the room with nothing more than a slight movement of wind. "Samuel, are you alright?" she asked softly, trying to to startle him.

Sam jumped, he hadn't expected an angel to show in his room. But after the visions of hell; he had to admit the presence was soothing somewhat. Slowly he simply shook his head from side to side.

"How can I be, he's suffering. So much. I just--I need my brother."

She didn't chance moving and instead keep still in the corner, a sympathetic look on her face. "He won't suffer long. I promise you that." Ashael tilted her head slightly and asked, "Is this true need, or want?"

"Look at me, honestly. I need my brother. I just, I don't know what to do without him. I feel lost." he held his hands out to his sides. He really did look haggard. Nightmares kept him from sleeping, even the alcohol couldn't seem to completely dull that.
