Where did the tradition of wishing on 11:11 come from?

I'm not quite sure actually, but I am curious. I tried looking it up, but everything just states that you can make a wish at this time and not why...

When asked in the future I'll probably just make something up that constitutes wishing "Oh, 11:11? That's the exact time everyday that Jesus would high five all of the apostles. True story."

I wish on 11:11 (and on 5:55 and 3:33 because I have too many wishes!)

I can't remember if I've ever been in the presence of a word-dripper-- the fact that I haven't makes me think that it can only be done in movies.

This is only mildly connected to this entry, but I was just discussing with someone earlier today how I wanted the slang of the 20s to come back. I believe I shall make it so.

Maggie Gyllenhaal is one of the most current word drippers, I think. A lot of her parts are meant to be very seductive and sensual and she most commonly achieves this with her words. And you might just be right, it might take an actress (or actor, I guess guys can do it too) to pull this off.

And, bearcat, I think you just decided my wish for 11:11 tonight with the slang come back. Those terms are prime and not t'be forgotten!

Maggie Gyllenhaal was really good in Secretary, if I remember correctly. She didn't talk much, though, and it's been a while since I've seen it...

I definately need to call people bearcat! I'm going to start the slang comeback slow, though, just by calling things the bee's knees and so forth.

I don't wish on 11:11, but sometimes I wish on stray eyelashes.
