Freddy had always been a little lame when it came to dating. Or at least, he'd definitely been lame when initiating any kind of dating. Once the ball got rolling and he got to know the chick, then things usually went pretty fucking good, but something about trying to ask a girl out and not make an ass of himself or seem too cheesey or too much like ( Read more... )

People had gone, and then came back. So things on the Island were now what approached normal, which was why Anita was in her hut to begin with.

She didn't usually get company, but she smiled when she recognized the voice. Although, she hoped it didn't mean some new problem had come up. She wouldn't hold her breath with her luck being what it was, but hey a girl could hope, right? right?

She went to the door with a smile on her face figuring it was best to just go and tackle whatever it was, good or bad. "Hey."

"Hey," he responded, smiling and trying to not shuffle his feet like some high school idiot. This was always the really fucking hard part, the part where you actually had to try to start a conversation, make it sound like you actually had more than a waste of space between your ears. He'd never been that good at this part. And fuck, he knew her, it shouldn't be this hard.

"This probably sounds dumb, but this is really kind of a visit, so no emergencies. Promise." Hell, that'd be his first thought if she suddenly showed up at his front door.

"That's a relief. I have to admit I was prepared for the worst, just in case." Though she wasn't going to tell him that she had almost grabbed her gun before answering his knock. Really, she was getting into the bad habit of not wearing it in the hut, she should probably rethink this.

She wasn't sure what had prompted the visit, but at least she was able to relax some about it. "What's up?" She asked as she gestured for him to come in. While it certainly was simple, the hut was for the most part clean and organized. Anita figured a mess would cause too much trouble later, and truth be told it was nice to not have to think while she cleaned.

"I don't blame you," he laughed, pushing his hands deep into the pockets of his jeans as he eyed her from beneath his grown out bangs. He should probably take a hair cut into consideration soon as he was starting to look like a beach bum, but he had other things to focus on at the moment.

Carefully slipping past her, he gave the interior a quick once over but didn't stare as to not be rude. If he recalled correctly, a chick once told him girls like appreciative glances at their places, not critical observation.

"Not much. I figured it was kinda lame we only really saw eachother over IPD shit, so I thought I'd try something a little less nerve wracking, k'know?" Not that that was at all true, this was more nerve wracking than IPD stuff. And beating around the bush probably wasn't going to help.
