“You were crying again, weren’t you?”
Eunhyuk shifted uncomfortably in his brown God-knows-how tailored outfit. He swung his legs over the other side of the seat and faced the window, turning away from his teasing friend. He pretended to ignore the dark-haired boy and watched as endless streetlights zoomed past the window.
“Hyukjae~!” the cheeky boy called again. “Admit it! You cried when we won Daesang, didn’t you?”
“I wasn’t crying,” he grumbled, still refusing to face his dongsaeng. “And you couldn’t even see me while you were giving your little speech…” He toyed with his hands.
“Aha! So you were crying!” the younger one triumphantly yelled, grabbing his shoulders and shaking them. “You admitted it, Hyukjae! You cried! You cried! PAHA!”
Eunhyuk sat with his eyes squeezed shut, allowing the boy to continue to laugh and shake him. He let out a small whine between his teeth in frustration and brought up his hands to cover his face.
“Donghae,” he muttered irritably between his fingers, “shut up.” He leaned back into his seat, his hands still covering his face. Suddenly he felt a light tap on his shoulder.
“Yah…” Donghae said in a half-whisper. “…what’s wrong?” Eunhyuk ignored his question and let his hands fall on his lap, breathing out an exasperated sigh. His eyes snapped open as Donghae shook his shoulder again.
“Ya~ah,” Donghae whined louder, “why are you being like this?”
Eunhyuk shrugged off Donghae’s tugging hands and faced the window again. “I’ll tell you later.”
“Tell me no~w,” Donghae complained, poking his back.
“I said, later!”
Silence.
“Drop me off here.”
Eunhyuk was startled at Donghae’s serious and sudden request to the driver. He turned to look back at him, the giddy expression completely gone from the younger’s face and replaced by an unusual graveness.
“Donghaeya…” Eunhyuk called out, “what are you doing? We’re so far from-“
“I don’t care. I’ll take a bus.”
Eunhyuk just stared as Donghae slid out of the van and into the dark streets of the night.
--
Donghae wandered aimlessly around the district, frustrated that he hadn’t bothered to think before leaving the van. Now he was lost around a city that he should have known his way around in. Should.
He groaned in annoyance as the cold of the night started biting at his skin, his teeth slightly chattering and body shivering. Damn.
--
“Where’s Donghae?” a worried motherly figure asked, stepping out of his shoes and into his big, warm panda slippers.
“Uh… well… Oh! Teukie hyung! Shouldn’t we celebrate our win? Heh heh heh ^^;;; …” Eunhyuk plastered on a too-wide grin on his face, though contrasted by ridiculously furrowed eyebrows. He felt Eeteuk’s hand clamp painfully on his arm.
“Did you piss him off again?” his hyung asked, looking down on him with an oddly worried expression on his face. Teukie hyung can never pull off being mad -_-;; …
“No… well… I… he…” Eunhyuk looked up at Eeteuk, his mouth half-opened. Seeing the ‘don’t-give-me-that-bullcrap’ look on his hyungs face snapped his mouth shut.
“Well…?”
“He was teasing me,” he mumbled, his head down. Suddenly the grip on his arm loosened and was replaced by a shove.
“Go find him.”
Eunhyuk heavily dragged his feet towards the door, and was surprised as a sweater fell on his head. Wtf? No way am I going to be caught dead wearing hyung’s oversized…thing.
“Take it with you, or I won’t let you back in here,” Eeteuk called out to him. “Trust me. You’ll need that.”
--
Eunhyuk frantically ran through the streets of-
Damn. I don’t even know where I am anymore. So…cold… Donghaeya~ where are you T___T ?!
“Call him, you idiot.” Eunhyuk jumped as he heard a drunken man slur those four genius words. “Then come back here and we’ll warm you up.” A drunken cackle.
Eunhyuk tried his best to flash him a thankful smile. “Ah hah hah hah ^^;;; o-okay ^---^;;;…” He quickly turned away from him, and pulled out his phone.
“Yes, finally someone makes sense in this world,” he muttered happily to himself. “…well… minus… that… last part x___x…” He quickly pressed the “send” button, immediately connecting him to the last call he had. Kekeke… playing walkie-talkie with Donghae in the dressing room was fun ^---^. After a couple of rings, Donghae picked up.
“Wh-what d-do y-you want?” Donghae chattered over the receiver.
“Donghaeya, where are you?”
“…l-like y-you c-care…”
“Donghaeya… I’m serious…I’m freezing my ass off for you out here…”
“…”
“Yah…”
“…I’m hiding out from these crazy drunk guys who want to ‘warm me up’ x___x”
--
“WTF Donghae,” Eunhyuk scolded when he found Donghae crouched up against the wall of an Aliens-Unlimited store. “What were you thinking?! Getting out of the van…”
Donghae sat still, huddled.
“Aissh…” Eunhyuk picked Donghae up by his underarms. “Come on, let’s go home.” He felt resistance from his dongsaeng.
“…not until you tell me what you wouldn’t tell me earlier,” Donghae defiantly said, pouting as he crossed his arms.
Eunhyuk sighed. “Fine, fine, I’ll tell you.” He leaned in and gave Donghae a quick peck on his cheek. “I love you.” He grinned triumphantly as he saw Donghae smile and cling onto him.
“Okay~!” Donghae sang, happily letting Eunhyuk lead him back home. Eunhyuk draped Eeteuk’s oversized sweater over the both of them, his arm wrapping around Donghae’s waist.
Works everytime ^---^.
