Of course something like this would happen. I'm not the hero, I'm not the good guy of the story. I'm just some side character who's only around because the main character took pity on him. Of course I would never get the happy ending.

I'm probably not the person to be saying something like this, but it doesn't really matter if you're the hero or the good guy of the story.

I think you kind of have to make your own happy endings and kind of say screw you to fate.
