Pines 69 Benefit and Sara, Day 2 Part 1

After the first day meeting Sara and making a few new friends, I had a really hard time sleeping because I was so excited.  My adrenalin was through the roof!  We got up the next day and hiked over to Cherry Grove, which is the next village on the island and where the lesbians tend to go as opposed to the Pines, which is pretty much all gay men.

god, every time i hear about sara and al's relationship it just gets me. i'm sitting here tearing up.

i can't imagine how awful that must have been. i mean, thank goodness she could be with him, but at the same time that had to be absolutely gutting to experience. the woman obviously has a profound strength.

when i see photos like this one still on al's myspace page, i remember just how real the people behind the celebrity and the characters are. it is hands down my favorite photo of sara:

That's a great picture. You know, all the folks who talked to me about Sara and Al's relationship choked up a bit. I tried so hard not to lose it, but it was hard. As I was writing about it, I tried to keep it brief because it triggers things for me as well.
