I know it's nearly impossible to remember things that you've forgotten.

[Better than most, actually.]

But...how do you make yourself forget something that you need to forget?

Don't put thought into what needs to be forgotten. The more you think about forgetting it, the farther away you are from doing so.

Alcohol can work very well.

...Doesn't that usually lead to other things you want to forget?

Guess it depends on just what kind of mood you're in and if you've got company. Drinking alone is probably the best plan if you don't want to get yourself into trouble.

Maybe you can try not to think about it at all.

I have tried, but it keeps coming back. Like a bad cold.

Then perhaps it needs a resolution. It is something that can be changed or fixed?

I think it's probably too late for that. The damage is done.

That depends on what you want to forget.

Things that never should have been said.

Or done.

...depending on the severity, I would second that suggestion to not think about it.

It's severe. And surreal. And--

Okay, I should try not to think about it. I'll try that advice, thank you.

[She almost asks him how many dreams one person can have at one time. But decides that maybe it's best not to go too deep into it.]

Something I ate... Of course. How stupid of me to overlook something so simple.

I doubt it's that simple.
