[ He sighs, pauses to tap the ash off his cigarette. ]

[ He rubs at one bloodshot eye with the back of his hand. ]

[ Her question gives him pause. Maybe he sounds more tired than he thinks. ]

Things're pilin' up, back in Nieve. S'worse, bein' back here, not bein' able t'do anythin'.

Got out... kinda. Just happened. Couldn't remember this place while I was there, neither.

Bingo. Felt a little weird back home, but nothin' that didn't wear off once I was awake. Everythin' I went through back there, fits with what the mirror's showin'.
