[Jarlaxle is positioned in such a way that you can see that he has covered up the mirror with a length of thick, luxurious black cloth and turned the mirror so the front of it is facing the wall. If you've got good, fast eyes, you may notice that his hand is bloodied - somebody got mad enough to punch the mirror. There's also a dagger sticking into ( Read more... )

Well, I don't think I do. But for others, you might want to describe one, incase they go by another name in someone else's world.

It's something akin to a fire god - but not as powerful.

Yeah, the closest thing I've ever seen to that...is really nothing like it.

Please let me know if you ever hear of someone who does.

[He pauses, considers...]

You are Yako, correct?

I know about the elemental spirit of fire, but I'm not sure if that would help you.

It may. Please describe what you know.

There are eight spirits, and the fire spirit is Salamander. Channeling his power results in fire spells, fireball, explosion, and blaze wall on the offensive side, and power and physical benefits on the defensive side. The Mana Stone he resided in was in the Valley of Flames before it was destroyed.

While that does sound like it an interesting story, it is not what I am looking for information about. Thank you, though.

[staring.]

Primordials.

[thought as if he wants more of an explanation.]

[Straight-faced.]

They are similar to fire gods, though they lack much of the ability to think.

I hold no belief in gods.

Why is that?

[He tilts his head slightly to the right to appear more trustworthy, and his tone comes across as being innocently curious.]

[The cloth? A wise choice. Who knows what could come through the other side. The dagger and injured hand, however, are too detailed to see in the light. He misses them completely.

He purposely waits. The greatest wizard in Menzoberranzan was certainly not at the beck and call of her most resourceful mercenary. Not on any day. After moments tick into minutes and a dozen or two of those has passed, he finally replies back.]

The Spellplague's discussion.

[It was the first location he could think of where no other would have eavesdrop. Their rooms were not safe. No, not in the least.]

[Jarlaxle had a feeling Gromph would make him wait, but he's not about to complain about it. There are so many other, easier ways to bring suffering upon himself, after all.]

I will head for it now.

[He turns his PORTAL off, pauses only long enough to don his piwafwi and hat and grab the wand, and makes his way quickly back to the Cutlass where he waits for Gromph. He paces back and forth while he waits, trying to get control over his emotions before Gromph sees anymore of them.]

[In retrospect, he should leave a spy here. Yes, actually, after this conversation with Jarlaxle was over, that is exactly what he would do. He couldn't necessarily plant such a scrying device in the other drow's room, but this might prove useful in the future.

He arrives after the mercenary as he takes all the precautionary measures he could when stepping out of his room, that blasted thing he really should do away with sooner than later.

He doesn't even knock as he enters and stands near the doorway as he watches Jarlaxle. He also doesn't bother with sign language. Instead, he reverts to the drow language.]

If you need me urgently, seek me out through normal means. A knock on the door perhaps. Only trivial matters should be placed where all could hear.

[Or baiting the other residents here. But that was neither here nor there.]

[Jarlaxle turns when Gromph enters, looking rather unamused by his brother's complaints. Because of the time of day, he keeps to the drow language, silent though it may be. He raises an eyebrow, not bothering with niceties.]

It might be more suspicious to some if I never mentioned you at all.

[He pulls the wand from his pocket and holds it out for Gromph.]

Here.

"Fire primordials," huh? I'm afraid I haven't heard of something such as that.
