[Thanks to the intervention of Harry, she's been asleep in her flat for the duration of the monsters descending upon the city, not dreaming until she began to wake a day or so ago, rolling over to click through the PORTAL to the last thing she remembered, watching videos with a distracted air to catch up on events ( Read more... )

Wow, aren't you just a ray of sunshine today.

Good to see that you made it through everything, though. I don't think the jukebox would like to be ownerless. Even if it is temporarily.

I am the absolute embodiment of it.

[But she sounds tired, not sharp. And she's still tired when she's been asleep for the best part of a week.]

The sooner that lot stop grieving, the better. I went down to check on everything, stupid thing thought Gloomy Sunday was an appropriate choice.

[Needless to say she kicked it.]

[ FFF. Josh snorts. ]

It's really sensitive to our feelings, isn't it?

It's been around magic, I think it's trying to relate.

[She's better with the inanimate object than most people.]

It's so curious how everyone jumps to assume they're being insulted.

I have the grief of what feels like half the bloody city rattling around my head, forgive me for not wanting to play word games along with my snark deserting me.

You were right, about them returning.

[Not that he'd really doubted her, but the whole thing weighed on his mind.]

Does the revival pain you as much as the death?

When did it happen?

[Sleeping means that figuring out what day it is and the gap between death and revival isn't really happening yet.]

Not that, the grief from the mourners. That's what hurts.

Yesterday. The place had drawn quite a crowd.

[Which was how he'd managed to find it, in order to stand and watch.]

The grief does seem misplaced, even if pain and death are still felt.

[He'd always seen grief as being a response to the lack following loss. If there was no lack, then there should be no grief.]

I don't know if I'm sorry I missed it - watching them acting like a bunch of old widows.

[But she'd probably have fainted being that close to it, made herself worse so hearing about it will have to do.]

I can understand it at home, when people don't come back. [Well, unless they end up a demon or vampire but there's no need to drag any of that into it.]

What reason would I have to lie?

[She's honestly curious about that one although thanks to the mask, there are few visual clues to go on.]

[He shakes his head.] Didn't see none; just had to wonder if your kinda banshee was anything like the same kinda banshee we got back home.

What are your banshees like then?

[She would kill for a distraction.]

[He doesn't really respond to the thanks. If it had been in person, he would have waved it off. Things like that were what friends were for, and Kelly very rarely forgot his friends.]

Glad to see you're okay.

Same goes to you - it looks like it was rough out there.

[She'll give a better thanks in person as she has definite plans to go to his restaurant when she's back to herself again.]

I stayed out of it, mostly. Holed up in the basement under the restaurant. I was really hoping more people would follow my example, but it seems like a lot of them are still stuck on playing hero.

Not everyone is blessed with having an ounce of sense in their heads. Either that or they have some deathwish seeing as it doesn't stick here in the city.
