[ Sora is gliding across the ground somewhere along the paths, decked out in Final Form and fighting monsters. and then, he feels some sort of shock right in his chest. something--horrible, all-encompassing in his heart and he cries out. it's like someone hammered in his chest ruthlessly, didn't stop until it all caved in. his yell gurgles in his neck and he flashes out of his Form, falling onto the ground with a crack. his breathing is heavy as he realizes, tries to grasp at a connection that is now broken.

[ he closes his eyes as the pain starts to expand, then ebb. ]

Axel stops to stare at his Portal, unbelieving of what he'd just seen. It had to be fake. It had to be. Deep in his chest, something forgotten stirs. Something painful and base and so full of emotion he could just explode. Grief panic sadness anger RAGE. They poured out like someone had turned on a fire hydrant]

Roxas.... Roxas....!

No!! ROXAS!!!

[Then, a pillar of fire, no doubt visible from everywhere in the city, sears the sky and lights up the area. Nothing but powerful heat and flame from the Nobody in distress]

[She saw that pillar of fire alright. She wasn't even two city blocks away when it erupted. That erupting aura... Aqua knew it well enough to recognize who it was after fighting alongside him on the first day.]

[Don't mind her, teleporting closer and focusing on the figure inside the flames. she doesn't care if it's blinding in stark contrast to the night, doesn't care if this might hurt, because she is sensing the weakening just by standing here.

There is a tidal wave of magicked water falling over him. How she managed to cause Bubble Blast to go on speed, no one will ever know. Maybe it's her emotional distress, but so long as it put the flames out... kept another from being lost.]

[Monsters are no longer an issue. Axel stands in the middle of the conflagration, shaking with rage and sadness and covered in fire from head to toe. Intermingling with the flames around his body and the ones nearby are thorny protrusions of Nothingness, coiling and snaking like the creature that took his best friend from him. The flames are so hot that they've melted away the ground, leaving cracks filled with molten lava and charred monster corpses. The buildings near him? Obliterated, as if by a bomb. The ones a little further away aren't much better off, burning out of control.

He's never felt this way before. Even before he lost his heart, even when Isa told him to run, even when he went to his house and found no parents, just bloodstains. It was nothing compared to seeing not one, but two of his closest friends die.

He should have been there. It should have been him. His life was worthless and empty, why did it have to be them?! Take him instead

[She knows... She knows all too well the wish─the longing to be the one to go in a friend's stead. She's seen it before, carried Ven's lifeless body, lost the people most important to her. Even now, the words and regrets are echoing in her mind. She wants to flood this place to the ground for taking away that which she prayed would stay with her once more; who she would never lose again.

'Why am I always the one left standing?'

She wants to break down, too─was the one who made far too many mistakes to ever take back what she did... what she failed to do. How different would it have all turned out, had she taken the time to show her confidence in her friends? How different would it have been if she had rushed to Roxas' aide the first day instead of wishing him well?

Her own sorrow was far too evident in the way her shoulders were slumped even as she continued to prepare for a second shotlock blast. The initial wave may not have put out all the flames, but another one was coming as the first plowed through another block. ...Whoops.]

ROXAS! ROXAS! [NO! Why was this happening? It was too much. It wasn't fair.]

Where are you? ROXAS! I'll come! I'll come and I'll heal you. Don't leave me. Please Roxas! [The tears were rolling down her cheeks.

Her heart felt like it was being torn apart in her chest, like she couldn't even breath anymore. Nothing felt right, and now she was losing one of the most important people to her, and she was stuck, being useless.

Rapunzel shut her eyes, the tears being forced out. Roxas wasn't going to answer. She dropped her PORTAL and sobbed until her feed ended.]

[And right after watching Ventus' death, Cloud saw this immediately. Like with Ventus, he watches this all the way to the end, before slamming his portal shut, almost breaking it in half in his fist.]

The two of you...one after... [A horrible sense of guilt was building in Cloud; he should never have parted ways with the two after meeting up with them that one time.

But there was no time for guilt or grief now, only action as the monsters continued to prowl outside. Grabbing his sword, he headed out again, despite not getting any rest for the last 3 days.]

[She wanted to do something...make everything better, but nothing could make it better. Maybe if she wasn't so weak and was able to help then maybe this wouldn't have happened.]

Roxas please, please don't go! I don't want to be alone again!

[Finally, she slid down to her knees while tears ran down her face. Her chest tightened as she hugged herself, she wanted this nightmare to be over. She didn't want to see her dearest friend die. Chocked sobs were heard as her PORTAL was dropped onto the floor, the feed ending not long after.]
