[Loki stands beside a shaggy pine tree covered in moss somewhere in the heart of a old growth forest. For the moment, his mask is plain, hand-beaten gold that covers the upper part of his face and resembles a swallow one moment or a plain mask with a pair of neatly curling horns in the next.Good afternoon, my name is Loki Odinson and I have been ( Read more... )

[Giles' mask is simple and unchanging - a half mask with a mirrored coating that glitters faintly in the sunlight.]

...you know, that really is a bit of a loaded question.

Especially here.

Why bother with asking a question that's not 'loaded'?

Fair point. Quickest way to get a response, certainly.

...up until a few weeks ago, I would have answered something like "the sun will always rise and set." This place has proven me wrong again.

Nothing lasts forever, stranger, not even the Midnight Sun.

[The video turns on to reveal a grey-eyed youth with a stick in his mouth for half a second, and then blurs and wobbles between the ceiling and the far wall of his apartment. Whoever it is seems to be fiddling with his PORTAL. While talking to someone on it. With his wand in his mouth.

[Oh, Sirius.]

Here ith a truth: you hab an exthellent name.

And what is your sure-to-be-excellent name?

Thiriuth- [There's a flash of green light, and a sound like a bug-zappers going off at once.]

OW! Oh Circe's tits, ow! Sirius Black, who should know better than to talk with his wand in his mouth.

[Well at least it's got him to to stop what he was doing and turn the communicator around. There's a char mark on his face, which seems to be sprouting a thick pelt of hair all over it now.]

Loki, Norse shapeshifter god-slash-elemental of magic, fire and shenanigans. Odinson's usually Thor, though, who's alright but a bit thick. Giants and hammers all day long, and Thursday is a useless day of the week. Never quite Friday. I wonder if this is ever going to stop growing?

[Loki cocks his head to one side as he tries to figure out the best way to respond to whatever has been speaking to him.]

Perhaps it will grow for as long as your tongue wags freely in the wind about matters you're not well versed in?

Yes?

[There is no recognition to his voice or mannerisms. Of course, he might be lying about that, but then again, maybe not?]

[... Treads cautiously. Tony was from a different world, who's to say Loki is or isn't too.]

Loki Odinson. Isn't that the name of a Norse god? The trickster god?

'tis true, stranger. I was known for mischief in my youth, but I've matured somewhat since then.

Good afternoon, sir. [The young man bows slightly, his own mask in place.]

I used to work in a textile mill, and then in a circus, so I learned to do all sort of crafts. I could assist you if you want.

I am not from earth, though. Something I know to be true? [He thinks about the question, even if he already answered Loki's first request.] Gods exists. [His mommy is one, after all.]

I know only a little about weaving.

[Which is a polite understatement. Cloth manufacture is strictly women's work and while Loki has seen it done, it was never proper to get involved in such a craft.]

Do you have a 'mill' for it here?

It's a start.

[In his world it was Women and slave's work, and that was what Laurent used to be.]

No, not really, we can dream up buildings. But we can dream up the textiles and material. What sort of things do you want to be able to do?

And my name is Laurent, is a pleasure to meet you.

I have experience laying enchantment on pre-woven cloth, but I would like to know if it's possible to work as the cloth is being made.

Something I know to be true?

There's nothing quite as intoxicating as a couple of powerful cars and a open road to race down~.

[In the background of his transmission, an engine revs, purring as smoothly as his voice.]

Quite.

[Loki is familiar with the concept of cars and has seen them in action, but doesn't really see the appeal.]

Perhaps I just haven't had the right experience with 'cars' yet.
