When it flickers on, she beams, opens her mouth...but finds no words. Briefly you see her residency...and her appearance...before she pushes herself against the text feature, and it all goes away.

Uhm...miss? This is the endless city of Promenade. magic prevent us from talking at night, but once the sun rises your voice will be back.

[Goldie is surprised by the words. She can't hear him, but...there they are! She switches controls, having to give some very good shoves (darn her tiny size!), then it switches on, her falling back onto her rump, but thankfully, her feathers cushion her.]

Takes my voice?

[She lets out a little surprised chirp when she sees her own words.] This is so strange!

And yes, but it's only temporary. I know it's scary at first but you will get used to it quickly.

[She shifts herself into a more comfortable sitting position, her legs to her chest, her chin on her knees.]

I'm not so sure. I'm used to some kind of ruckus or another during the night. The Farm and Vegas are never really quiet...

This is a city that takes people away from their homes. The people in charge here say we've always been here and this is where they belong, but no one believes that.

At night, we can't talk because the King put some kind of magic on us. We can talk during the day, though.

[she makes a proud, annoyed motion, not at the girl she's talking to, but at the idea of being kidnapped.] It's not polite to take someone without asking first!
