dead dead dead dead dead

I don't think I've written about celebrity deaths in awhile, so time to talk about them again!!! :D

Firstly: Billy told me this morning that [92 year old, good lord I didn't realize he was that old] Gerald Ford, was recovering in the hospital from an illness! Naturally, the VERY FIRST thing I thought of was:

Also, as a card carrying member of the "cripzzzzz", I am also mourning the death of Tookie.

And as a reader of the Star Wars Expanded Universe novels, I am mourning the death of this Wookie.

so let me state, once more, for those who do not read comment subject lines, that those two things were FALSE! I'm not a Star Wars loving Crip.

(WESSST SIDE 4 LYF.)

...okay, so seriously though (and perhaps I should just look it up online, but I wanna see who's up on their gang trivia. haha) Why is it that this Tookie fellow was in/from California, yet, the crips are mainly associated with the east? I'm guessing it's that he started the crips in the east SIDE of LA, and then branched out from there?

ok, I just looked it up: http://www.gripe4rkids.org/crips.html and now I understand! Much like my entry has enriched your life with knowledge*, so has this page!! :D

*and by "enriched" I mean "burdened" and/or "annoyed" and by "knowledge", I mean "crap". [only applicable to my entry. I actually AM quite interested in what that page had to say! hahahah]

one more thing: Did anyone else fear, when they heard of Pat Morita's death, that his last role was his cameo on "Robot Chicken"? hahahha god that would've sucked, much like Orson Welles' last role in "TRANSFORMERS: THE MOVIE" aha;lskdhf;laskdhf;lasd

good times.

This post has to win some kind of award for "Most comments by ilovegravy before someone else adds one."

Anyhow, Item #2: That person sucks. Craypas are totally cool.

Dude!! I MET Pat Morita once! I used to do freelance animation, back in the dizzay, and he was doing a voice-over for one of the characters in a children's video.

y'know, (I'm 4 years younger than ilovegravy, and also, I'm not speaking for her here as we've never discussed Richard Pryor [to my knowledge], but!) I knew about Richard Pryor because of the big to-do Comedy Central had about him in, what, 1998? that was a benefit for his charity or whatever. and, uh, I didn't really think his stand-up was that funny. I guess a lot of it seems like it must have been pretty "edgy" at the time, though, so that was the appeal? or maybe everyone likes him because he's a good actor? I mean, I'm not saying we shouldn't care that he's dead (although the extreme bitterness about Mitch Hedberg getting absolutely no media coverage when he died is in me somewhere, I'm sure), it's just, like, I don't see what was so great about him. UNLIKE THE FRUGAL GOURMET! no. but just sayin'. haha
