I still need to visit Finland some day. Sounds like it would be good fun :) I feel you on the sauna thing. It's okay for a few minutes, but not really something I enjoy. Maybe it takes some getting used to.

And what's wrong with being Eastern European? (never been there either...)

You'd love Finland! Do go in summer though - while it will not be warm, it will be less cold. But still charming. There's so much nature going on ( ... )

Oh, this post gave me wanderlust - I went to Scandinavia for the first time this year (Copenhagen and Stockholm) and would love to get to Finland and beyond next. Travel just does such interesting things to perspective - you never see your surroundings quite as clearly as when you return back to them, right?
