Was called into HR this morning and told that my job was being cut, and that I will have to interview for another job, which is an amalgamation of the roles of me and my collegue. Then the one that loses goes. My collegue is a 54 yo man, who has some of the same abilities as me, but not all. He is my friend as well, and I have to think about how

Oh, hell :-( what a horrible situation to be in, honey! ::hugs:: It's always so much harder when you're competing against friends, but you're right - you both have houses/families etc to support, and ultimately you have to look after yourself first.
